Helga Weiss was forced to be in the 16 death march. Helga and her mother lied about there age. In the year 1944 she had to see her dad and after she had saw her dad she had never seen him again. Helga did not escape wen she ad the chance because she wasnt sure that er mother was gonna be able to escape to. Helga would suffer a lot because of starvation. She drew 100 pictures while living in Terezin.

Helga was never able to find out what append to Otto Weuss. Helga mother did not want to accept the fact that er husband was dead but years later they hand sent out death certificates. In May 5th of 1945 they camp was liberated. Helga had went back to Prague to look for her father but she had never found him.

Before Weiss was sent to the Terezin she witnessed the progress of the Holocaust going on in Prague. A lot of employees lost their jobs and banned for many things like sport clubs, swimming pools, and parks. On the 4th of October 1944 both her and her mother were transported to Auschwitz. Helga Weiss was one of the 1,500 children who survived of the 15,0000 that were sent to Terezin.

Helga Weiss apartment sadly was handed over to the Germans and that caused all of her family to be transported to Terezin by the rail. It was knows as a city in the north west of prague it had became a hub transit. Helga started her diary in 1939 and she recorded some noises that still haunt her everyday.
