This was a memorable photo because a day after it was taken, I received a call from the school that offered me my first teaching job. I did not realize that teaching is my calling until after this photo.

Now, I am an Assitant Professor and I am enjoying every bit of it, especially because I get to teach the iskolar ng bayan!

P.S. Yes, I'm wearing Crocs. Don't judge!

Siargao

This was from our trip to Siargao Island last Summer 2019 (one of my last trips before college and the pandemic). One of the things I miss the most ever since the pandemic happened is travelling. In fact, I was looking forward to our hotel weekend but it was cut short because of the pandemic. Going to unknown places, trying new food, and meeting the locals are some things I yearn for. I hope we can all travel again soon once again.

P.S. If you guys don't see a resemblance between me and the guy at the photo, it is because I've lost 30kg since then and I'm still trying to lose the last kg's until my goal weight. That's me, I promise!

I don't remember what year this was taken, maybe 2005 or something, but it's one of my favorite throwback pictures with my sister (in purple) and two of my cousins (the baby and the one in the beanie)! I miss being a kid, sana I can go back in time so I can do siesta without feeling guilty and eating whatever I wanted 😭 On another note, I miss being able to travel around the Philippines with my extended family - I have way more cousins than in the picture hehe. Despite half of the extended family being in the US, we used to always find time to meet up for a few weeks to catch up and hang out 😁

My friends and I went to Baguio. Since it was too cold, a jacket for ootd. I wore my red zip-up hoodie with inner and outer pockets. I don’t usually use bags so I just put my phone on its pocket. And it went missing later.

A case of Pick-Pocket transpired on December 14, 2019 at Engineer’s Hill.

This was a photo I retrieved from my lost phone HAHAHAHUHU.

I went home crying and phoneless.

PS: Highly recommended ang jackets with zip-pockets.

PPS: Safe sa Baguio, may CCTV.

Carlo's Golden Days

During my high school days, I would spend countless hours playing League of Legends after class. The computer shop, which I considered my 2nd home at the time, was just 5 minutes away from my school. I trained rigorously until I was good enough to compete with my brothers in tournaments all over Rizal. At one point, we even dreamed of participating in international tournaments.

The picture above was my first tournament with them back in 2014/2015 (I can't remember the year). We won and I was so nervous my hands were shaking all throughout. I wish we can go back to those days, even for just a brief period. Eventually, all three of us stopped playing. We no longer had the time to play since the obligations and responsibilities expected from us piled up.

Take me back to Korea!!!

As a person who likes everything about South Korea, it was a fun yet challenging experience to plan my family's vacation to Korea back in 2018. What I really miss is traveling and I really hope the pandemic ends.

P.S. This photo was taken in the Line Friends store in Myeondong and I literally had to line up to take a photo with this big Brown character! Line friends literally making people line up HAHAHA (This place would be heaven for BTS fans though cause of BT21 merch!)

Life before new normal

This was me with my HS friends 3 years ago in Tagaytay for a batch trip. I will never forget this because this is one of the only times our whole batch got together just to have fun and not to worry about school. It was honestly a breath of fresh air.

I do miss them and I miss the whole classroom environment and interactions in general. I never expected my college experience to be mostly online and remote and I just wish that was not the case.

Vitamin Sea

This was my last pre-Covid beach trip I had with my senior high school friends. It was a spontaneous getaway and I really miss the feeling of sneaking away with them for a day full of music and laughter while lounging in the sun. Having the beach to ourselves, this place was heaven! <3

P.S. I really miss travelling and living the island girl life.

Birthday Speech

This is a screenshot (sorry for the bad quality) from a clip of me giving my impromptu speech about Science in our Speech 30 class during my first sem in UP. It was taken by my friend on October 18, 2019 - my birthday! I performed quite badly and was so embarrassed about it, wondering if my classmates were judging me (I hope they don't remember any of it HAHAHA ╥ω╥). But on the bright side, I felt relieved that it was over and I can finally spend the rest of the day without worrying about impromptu speeches. Also, if I remember correctly, our Kas 1 class, my last class for the day right after Speech 30, was canceled so I got to go home (to Cavite) early and celebrate my special day with family (⁀ᗢ⁀).

This photo was taken during our hotel weekend at the Seda Vertis North in April 2018. The experience is surely one of the most memorable in my college life, even it was short. It was really fun, relaxing and learning at the same time all together with my friends.

[It is just upsetting that the pandemic is holding us back from experiencing first-hand how the hotel industry works, including F&B and such.]

Para sakin memorable ang H.SDays. Heto pa yung masasayang araw ng pagaaral, yung pagtapos magklase pare-pareho lutang at sabay-sabay nalang kaming hihilata't mahihimlay sa sahig HAHA. Nakakamiss lang sila ngunit dahil nga sa sitwasyon ngayon hindi rin makapagkita-kita sa personal.

This was my last travel before the pandemic hit. My family would spend the entire year saving up for a family trip in December, as it's the only time we're all free at the same time, and it's too magastos to travel more than once in a year.

We had gone to Osaka, Japan in December 2019. This photo shows me next to the Hogwarts Express in Universal Studios. I was so excited to go as it was my first time (you can see it naman in my expression hehe) and I had loved reading Harry Potter while growing up. It was mind-blowing to see it come to life, drinks included!! I also miss the cold weather - I had taken off my down jacket for the photo, but it was actually so cold na mangigisay ka if yan lang suot mo. 😅 I miss everything about traveling: seeing new places, being in new weather, and trying new food. <3
