When you come to Brazil be prepared to find very high hygiene patterns, here most people take 2 showers per day, mostly because of our tropical weather where this is necessary, and be sure that if you don’t smell nice or have a stinky breath you will be highly judged. When visiting Brazil you gotta be prepared from the moment you meet somebody: Here, you will be greeted with a lot of love and physical touch, don’t be scared, they won’t kiss you in the lips, normally its in the cheeks two times. Normally IN A INFORMAL CONTEXT you could hug people, but too much, and you’re going to be a creep. Also, here when people say lets meet at x time, they actually mean x +2 hours time, but dont be one of these people, come in time!

If my friend were coming to Brazil, one thing I'd make sure they'd be warned about would be, definitely, the security. Or even better, the security they should have while walking on streets. They can't leave with their backpack or purse opened, or with their cellphone on hands. We have pretty light handed people here, and it wouldn't be fun if they find out in practice.
