Chasing a chicken takes time because they run away from you like ideas not being able to form. Then, when you catch it you have picked your main topic you will stick with for the rest of the writing. Once you've decapitated the chicken, you have finished your first draft, but now it's time to sort out the bones and guts from the good parts. This refers to the irrelevant and overused words or sentences that you take out in a revision. The one main trait in all of this is time because you need to focus on making this the best, crispiest chicken in town.
