I watched the chracters expressions, and I payed attention to words that seemed familiar, and I also tried to guess what they might be saying, like 'how are you?' and 'what is your name'? and other stuff like that.

After listening I kind of started to understand more of what they might be saying, and I noticed that the spelling is similar, and some words are pronounced similar to English.

I paid attention the what was happening and the characters actions, and I compared it to how I think a similar conversation would go down in English to figure out some of the words. I also paid attention to words that where repeated multiple times and compared that to words I would use in that situation.
