The exploration brought more respect to the African American culture. This was positive as it led way for the civil rights movement that people of color deserve more respect.

Peary made maps for almost all of Greenland and North Pole which brought forth future explorers and discoveries in colder climates. This also caused exploration to the south pole which was positive, as almost all land on earth was now explorable when Peary and Henson proved it to be possible

Inuit people were given more respect, which was positive because they were looked past as just "eskimos" but now they were seen as great assets in cold climates for future explorations.

Peary and Henson used maps, and instead of key locations they used longitude and latitude. This impacted them because they found the approximate North Pole by using the maps so they would’ve had no way to know where they were. This is different from today as we use GPS and satellites to navigate so we can find the exact North Pole. There is some speculation on if they actually reached the North Pole or just reached around that point.

Peary and Henson also used Dog sleds to get across the ice. This made an impact because they would’ve froze, and never had been able to get across the ice with as much supplies as they had. This made travel also faster. This connects to today as now we use Snowmobiles and Ice Cats to get across the arctic which have the same purpose but instead of running off dogs it runs off of gas or diesel.

One effect of colonization is war. An example would be the revolutionary war. The colonies fought back against England, who owned the colonies, and the colonies gained independence becoming their own nation. One way they fought back was The Boston Tea Party, where a group called the Sons of Liberty dumped roughly 46 tons of tea into the Boston Harbor, in protest of the taxes placed on the colonists. This is negative, for wars bring death and poverty, but also positive as the colonists were being oppressed and they gained independence.

A negative effect of colonization would be the slavery in Africa. They were taken into the Americas to work for no pay on plantations. The route the slaves took from Africa to the Americas by ship was called the middle passage. They were loaded onto boats and were given no food or water until the journey was done. This was negative because people were taken from their culture, families and towns and tore apart lives, and and were also treated terribly on the boats as some died from lack of water.

A positive effect is the introduction of new religion. An example is African colonization and they introduce Christian churches and ministry. An example of this is This is positive because of the schools created by the missionaries for education. An example of this is The Love Africa mission where you and others in the Christian faith can go to Africa and build churches, schools, hospitals and other necessities all in the name of God.
