Ans1. According to us the Lord probably didn't give the chief a chance to prove himself thus it cannot be counted as a betrayal , we think the fault was on lord Ullin's side . If the lord would have thought about his daughters happiness then he might still have her with him. He shouldn't have to let his daughter go throgh this condition of dilemma.

And 2. Yes , the chief could have come to a better solution and tried to convince the lord to accept him .

1) Lord Ullin's daughter has immense affection towards the chief, her lover. She has more fear for her father than love which is the reason why she ran away from him with the chief. She wasn't brave enough to face her father's wrath.
2) The chief is very caring and loving towards lord Ullin's daughter. He planned the escape because he wanted to marry her as he knew that if he wasn't alive then Lord Ullin's daughter wouldn't stay happy.

1) Yes Lord Ullin daughter was the cause of the father's heartbreak and lover's death because she picked the Cheiftain over the father as she was scared of him. If she was brave enough to talk to her father, she could have prevented her father's heartbreak and the death of her lover
2) The daughter would have thought about how sad she was that she was running away from her father. She could have been confused as well because by choosing the Cheiftain she didn't choose her father.

Srisha,Krisha,Sakshi,Reha
Answer 1: " I'll meet the raging of the skies, but not an angry father." This shows us that she understands the true extent of her fathers rage and that she would rather face the stormy weather and risk her life and face her angry father.
Answer 2: we think he exhibited both remorse and repentant as his repentance was expressed in lines " Across the stormy weather and I'll forgive your highland chief my daughter o my daughter" . This tells us he regretted his disapproval.
