I believe students most often will violate commandments 6, 7, and 8. For commandment 6, most students will do anything to be able to get a cheaper or free version of their textbook, sometimes this means going through a sketchy link. For both commandment 7 and 8, students tend to use plagiarism when writing an essay and not giving anyone the credit for it. They will search around the web to find similar essays or sentences and try to "use their own words" but never give anyone any credit.

I think these violations occur mostly because some students just do not realize they are actually violating the commandments. I think there are some students doing it on purpose, but for the most part, students are using their own words for citing and think they do not need to still cite the essay, article, or website.

Most importantly, I think student need to be educated more about these commandments and how to not violate them. I personally did not know these commandments existed until this assignment. However, I wish I learned about them earlier so I could watch out for my own violations. We should possibly learn in our English classes about these 10 commandments especially because of the amount of essays we would write.
