The only main character left out in the movie is Mercutio this is because ”Gnomeo in this is a little bit of amalgamation between Romeo and Mercutio. We don’t have that Mercutio character in this. We don’t have that leader of the pack, which Romeo isn’t but Gnomeo is a little bit." James McAvoy says this in an interview with NBC. The last way the Romeo and Juliet and Gnomeo and Juliet are connected is that most of the plot is similar to the play.At the Beginning of the movie the two family's hate each other, Gnomeo and Juliet start to like each other, the Nurse Approves of the two of them to be together.
