- Reactions: When the employees knew the boss was coming, they rushed about tidying everything and putting on makeup, high heels to impress the boss. One of the employees sounded stressed when she was calling someone as she knew the boss was coming earlier than expected.
- Attitude and behaviour: When she talks she does not show much respect to the person she is talking to or about. She also doesn't look at her secretary when she is being spoken to.
- Speech: "Tales of your incompetence do not interest me," she said to her secretary.

The setting takes place in a office or a studio. The driver of Miranda called the lady.
 
 1) Miranda has a chauffeur, which concludes that she must come from a rich family.

  The man who the lady met was in a office. The man walked out and said, "Gird your loins!"

  2) gird (up) one's loins, to prepare oneself for something requiring readiness, strength, or endurance. This shows they might be preparing for somebody important.

  3) When everybody heard that, they started cleaning up their desks and throwing away some items they knew that Miranda will not approve of. (a woman threw away a packet of candies, etc.) A woman used her computer's photo screen as a mirror and started applying makeup. People started shifting some things to its rightful places. Magazines were spread neatly on the table and a glass was filled with a alcoholic drink.

  When Miranda came out of the car, she walked fast but in a cool and calm manner. She wore very fashionable and nice clothes. People seeing her moved away. A lady in the same lift as her noticed her, apologized, went out and waited for the next lift.

  4) The people are showing her respect. This is another clue that she is important. She is also wearing expensive clothing, which also shows that she is rich.

  When she reached the office, the lady held her stuff for her. Miranda started talking in a lazy and calm manner, like she had nothing to lose. She was unsatisfied at some things that she talked with the lady. People saw her immediately moved in the other direction.

  5) Miranda had nothing to fear and talked calmly. Her unsatisfaction on the subject could tell she was spoilt. The people did not want to block her and reduce her convenience.

Conclusion of the character of Miranda: Miranda is a rich woman with a strong taste for drinks. She is spoilt and a boss of a very successful company. She is famous and well respected. For physical description, you can see Miranda is wearing nice and expensive clothes.For action/Attidude/behaviour, you can see the way Miranda walks and behaves. The way she behaves is like a person with very high standards. You also can see Miranda expects alot  from the people at the place she’s going. For Reactions, you can see the people’s reactions when they heard Miranda with coming early. Some scrambled around and looked their best, and meanwhile, some tidy to place.For speech, you can hear the person talking to Maranda was really nervous. The employees were very noisy but afterwards the office was very silent.
A woman arranged magazines on the table and poured water for her.
The woman in the lift exited immediately when Miranda enetered.
Everyone made way for Miranda as she was going to the office

Speech
The same woman who arranged the magazines rushed them in a loud and stressed voice.
The bald man said' Gird up your loins!' in a formal but firm voice
Miranda spoke elegantly and articulated every word she spoke, not stopping to ensure that the woman heard everything.

Physical Description
Everyone in the office is wearing either a business  suit or a formal dress with high heels for the women.
Miranda was wearing a fur coat, using an expensive handbag, wearing diamond jewelry and costly looking high heels. She also came in an expensive- looking car. Her bag was in fact, a PRADA bag!

Thoughts
Everyone saw her as important and big in the business companies.
The moment they heard that Miranda was coming, all of them thought, "Clean Up!" "She's coming!" "My Shoes!" "My Makeup!" "Everything must be perfect!"

Behaviour
She carried herself confidently and proudly.
The girl played by Anne Hathaway, was looking around in confusion.

3.Reactions: As soon as staff know she is coming,the whole office rushes to get ready.When people see Miranda with the Secretary,they quickly turn and walk away,hoping Miranda never saw them.
Speech: Miranda speaks sternly while the staff speak in light,apologetic and sometimes soft tones
Inner Thoughts: Everyone was worried Miranda would catch them preparing for her arrival.
Physical description : The staff were feeling like small pawns doing work under fear of being fired while Miranda was stern,walking with stride like an army general visiting the barracks.
Behavior: The staff rushed in a panicked manner to finish their duties before Miranda caught them while Miranda was calm but she did not turn to look at her secretary while rattling off a bunch of perfectionism stuff.She also said to the secretary:" Details of your incompetence do not interest me."

The office became neat and tidy when Miranda arrived. This shows that Miranda has high expectations of the office, and everyone was afraid of her. (They even did not want to take the same lift as her.)

Very arrogant person(in my point of view). She uses advanced English. She did not even close the 'car' door coz she expects someone else to do it. That clearly shows her arrogance.

Very important person who expects perfection OR organised(from the employees' point of view).The mini boss(es) COMMANDED the others to organise at the moment. But I could also see the pinch of hesitation in them as they organised everything.

Very rich person(in the main lady's point of view).Miranda is extremely rich.[FYI, RICH=ARROGANCE=BOAST]. Some people ACTED as though they were very 'good' or 'organised' employees.

3. Speech: This clearly showed the instructions and emotions of the people working at the company. At the first part, a woman called up and instructed someone that Miranda was there. At the last part of the scene, Miranda talks about the poorly done assignment and also showed how she felt about it.
Reactions: Miranda was actually earlier than the time she should have arrived. Therefore, everyone hastily organized the office for Miranda is a perfectionist and no one wants to disappoint her by leaving it untidy and disorganised.
Behaviour:  Miranda has a rude person. Although the woman walking beside her was in a lower rank, she did not even give eye contact and talk to her eye to eye. That seems pretty harsh to me.
Physical Description: Miranda wore a black coat with a white handbag slung over her shoulder and holding a magazine. All the employees were wearing a formal dress.

One lady threw away a bag of candy, another changed into high heels, and yet another touched up on her makeup while Miranda's assistant cleared her desk, spread some magazines and poured some alcoholic drink in a cup for her. When Miranda reached, those who saw her went in another direction to avoid her. One woman even went out of the lift to let her go up first even though she had came first and there was more than enough space in the lift, proving she was respected and feared by alot.

    ~ Action / Attitude / Behaviour - The boss, Miranda, was a model cat-walking down the runway. She was acting very proud as she is rich and have a highest rank in the company. She behaves like a queen waking on a red carpet spread out in a hallway.
    ~ Reactions - The boss, Miranda, gave all her hand items to her secretary who came to meet her in the walkway to the office.
    ~ Speech - The boss, Miranda, talks in an arrogant manner like she is demanding someone to do something for her.

    I think that everybody is afraid of her due to these characterisation. 
    If I am one of the employees, I would:
    ~ Quit the job and find another job which I like to do.
    ~ Tell her politely that she is mean and arrogant and request her kindly to be more kind and gentle. If she fires me, I would just leave without any hesitation and find another job that I like to do.
    ~ Work hard with persistence to take over her job and make everyone like this job.
