The goal of the design challenge is to purify and filter water effectively with different layers like charcoal, cotton, pebbles and so on.

2. What are the things to be considered when designing a water filter?

It should have different layers, because every layer has a purpose in filtering the water. It should also have filter paper or cotton to filter the last bits of residue.

3. How can you determine the success of your design?

I can determine the success of my design when the water that came from the filter is much cleaner than the dirty water before I poured it onto the filter.

4. Illustrate your Filtration Design.

My filter design has different layers including cotton, sand, charcoal, pebbles, gravel and large stones. It has popsicle sticks as a stand which has pebbles glued to it. It also has a piece of hard carton on the bottom to make sure it is stable.
