The interaction will be coded using GML (Game Maker Language). The underlying video will be edited in Premiere Pro.

I'm aware that GML is absolutely NOT the ideal language to program this sort of thing, however it's the only language I'm competent in, so it makes sense to use it over a completely new language.

Lyric meaning

The lyrics for How I Made My Millions are quite vague/ambiguous, so a bit of interpretation is required before imagery can be set to it.

I was stronger
I was better
Picked you out
Now don't say a word
No don't yell out
Never mind
Let you out
Led you back
Stay on
Sit down
Let it fall
Let it fall
Let it fall
Let it fall

The meaning has never been discussed by the band, so I think the meaning needs to be derived from the emotional tone of the song. I'm not yet wholly sure of what sort of imagery I'd like to go along with it.

As with any editig-heavy production, it's important to not spend too long in front of a screen working for too long. Other than that, the idea (in its current iteration) doesn't have too many health and safety risks.

My inspiration for this project comes for the video for "Kilo" by the band Light Light. The video is an interactive web app which records the movement of the users' pointers, putting them together to produce a swarm of cursors following instructions onscreen. I would like to create interaction similar to this, but am wary that I should avoid ripping it off.

Song Choice - How I Made My Millions by Radiohead (1997)

This was originally recorded on the internal mic of a MiniDisc player. My intent is to make a fully produced cover, for use in the interactive video. I think the song title ties in nicely with the concept - multitudes of particles representing other viewers collecting in one place.
