Always with each other doing everything you can think of together. They played together, swam together, and even napped together. Throughout Ida´s life, she started to get very ill and got tired easily. Gus was very worried about her and sad that he didn't have a buddy to play with. But, he and Ida were good friends so he made sure to let her be and help her out as much as he could. 

How does this relate to the theme?

Just like Ida and Gus, we did a lot of things together. Always hanging out, partnering with one another, and many other things. We were like this for almost 5 years. As we grew up we started to get more annoyed with each other and tired of being with each other 24/7. So, we took a break from each other. Even throughout our break we still talked and were still best friends. 

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because even though we were best friends, we didn't have to be with each other all the time. Our friendship meant more than that. Throughout Ida and Gus´ friendship, she reminded him of many things and gave him some pretty good advice. She told him that you don't have to see something to feel it. He went back into their sunny spot, sat down, and thought about what she had told him. He used those words and related it to her. He didn't have to see Ida to know she was there with him. Maybe not in person, but she was there. 

How does this relate to the theme?

This relates to the theme because, without Ida, Gus was miserable. They were such good friends and he really missed her.
