         <description><![CDATA[<div>alyssa foral<br><br>It began enforcement on january 1st 1994&nbsp;<br><br>purpose:</div><ol><li>Grant the signatories <a href="https://www.thebalance.com/most-favored-nation-status-3305840">most favored nation</a>status.</li><li>Eliminate barriers to trade and facilitate the cross-border movement of goods and services.</li><li>Promote conditions of fair competition.</li><li>Increase investment opportunities.</li><li>Provide protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights.</li><li>Create procedures for the resolution of trade disputes.</li><li>Establish a framework for further trilateral, regional, and multilateral cooperation to expand the trade agreement's benefits.&nbsp;</li></ol><div>Canada, Mexico, and the United States<br>NAFTA was originally brought to the table by Ronald Reagen, but it was passed under Bill Clinton. Originally Reagen only negotiated with the Prime Minister of Canada, however his successor George H.W. Bush began negotiations with the President of Mexico so NAFTA replaced the original Canada- US Free Trade Agreement.&nbsp;<br>NAFTA has promoted trade and created jobs, however it has also suppressed factory wages and exploited Mexican farmers.<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Meggan Bottass<br>Founded- April 4th, 1949 <br>Purpose- NATO’s primary purpose was to unify and strengthen the Western Allies' military response to a possible invasion of western Europe by the Soviet Union and its Warsaw Pact allies<br>Member Countries- Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, United Kingdom, United States, Greece, Turkey, Germany, Spain, Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Bulgaria, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, and Montenegro.<br>3 Facts- <br>•NATO's Article 5 states that an attack on one member is an attack on all. Article 5 has been invoked only once in NATO's history, on Sept. 12, 2001, the day after the 9/11 attacks on the U.S.<br>•NATO has a permanent, integrated military command structure where military and civilian personnel from all member states work together.<br>•NATO defends airspace over Albania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia on a 24/7 basis, 365 days per year.<br>Positive Aspect of Belonging- Being apart of NATO gives assurance that if your country is ever in trouble, all the other countries will come help you and give you aid while fighting back <br>Negative Aspect of Belonging- Might paint the picture that the members are a group with an angenda against everyone else <br><br></div>]]></description>

For example if a crisis happened in America or anywhere then they all would act as if they were attacked.&nbsp; <br>Negative aspect: for Europeans it will lead to a disadvantage to them since they lost so many sovereign power countries to America. </div>]]></description>

So if a disease breaks out, you might not die.<br>Belonging to WHO means you have to follow their health rules and regulations on things like nuclear research etc. etc.</div>]]></description>
