The Rosie the Riveter propaganda poster was created by J. Howard Miller in 1942 at Pittsburgh.
It inspired housewives and women in general to start working in a war fare industry. This connects/relates to the WW2 era because all most all of the men went to war to fight and there were no more people to make weapons for the war and the woman had to step up so this really encouraged them and inspired them!
Link:
https://www.womenshistory.org/resources/lesson-plan/rosie-riveter
Citation:
“Rosie the Riveter.” National Women's History Museum, www.womenshistory.org/resources/lesson-plan/rosie-riveter.

Benjamin by Shmuel Dresner was a portrait that was made as a tribute to his friend he met in a prison during WWII named Benjamin. Despite being in the camp for two years, his friend helped him during all the hard times. One day Benjamin and Dresner were called forward to volunteer for deportation. Benjamin hoped that those called earlier would be transported by train but Dresner hid and stayed behind, later learned that all the prisoners including his friend were shot. The portrait’s emphasis is on the memory of Benjamin. While avoiding the trauma and sadness of their situation, Dresner makes references to destruction and violence through the torn and burnt papers from which he constructs the image.

Citation:
"Artists' Responses To The Holocaust".

Dame Laura Knight was an English artist who worked in oils, watercolours, etching, engraving and drypoint. Knight was a painter in the realist tradition and who embraced English Impressionism. Knight was among the most successful and popular painters in Britain. Her success in the male-dominated British art establishment made the way for greater status and recognition for women artists.
In 1929, she was created a Dame, and in 1936 became the first woman elected to full membership of the Royal Academy since its foundation in 1768. Her large exhibition at the Royal Academy in 1965 was the first for a woman. Knight was known for painting the world of the theatre and ballet in London, and for being a war artist during the Second World War. She was also greatly interested in, and inspired by marginalised communities and individuals, including Gypsies and circus performers.

Link: https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/dame-laura-knight-1424
Citation: Tate.
