I have thought a lot about the units offered throughout the Masters and something that I think is seriously missing is information and teaching of students with learning disabilities. After completing my first and second placement block late last year, it is so clear how important the awareness of student learning disabilities is. Just in my single grade 1 class there was 4 students who either had dyslexia, adhd or some form of autism. On a similar note, I really do not feel like "research methods in education" adds any value in my journey to becoming a qualified teacher.

I have the same comment as the previous poster- I know other universities (like LaTrobe) have an entire unit dedicated to behaviour management, and this could include information on ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, ODD, etc. The degree seems quite removed from the real life of teaching (I completed one placement last year), and seems to have more of a focus on academia- which is not very relevant for us as PSTs. I also do not feel that the 'research methods in education' unit is relevant for this degree, and strongly urge the university to consider replacing it with a unit that focuses on neurodivergence and behaviour management.
