My favorite project so far was an unfinished project not posted, it was the nose:mouth or eye:ear. I decided to do the nose;mouth one and drew three different variations of it. This was my favorite project because I thought it showed each individuals creativity, and it was also fun to draw portions of a face. I enjoy working with the ebony pencils and the water color markers because i enjoy shading, and the water color markers because they run very smooth and you are able to express a lot of different emotion and color schemes and techniques with them. Some challenges I ran into were figuring out how to draw or do something a certain way, but I overcame that by viewing other examples and trying new techniques. I want to improve on drawing realistic faces and people, and some goals to accomplish that in class are to practice drawing parts of the face during free draws, or incorporate it into projects. 2. I enjoyed woking with the ebony pencils the most because I liked shading the dark and light parts of whatever we were drawing. 
3. One challenge I ran into is when I was shading with ebony pencils and regular pencils, the lead would get on my hand, and then anywhere I moved my hand there was a light grey undertone. Every time I had to erase it so i decided to try and keep my hand lifted off the paper. 
4. Something I think I need to improve on is drawing things bigger, I feel like when I go to draw or sketch big things, I tend to draw then smaller, probably in an attempt to avoid error. 
5. In the future I would like to work with more paint instead of pencils and markers.

3. I liked to work with chalk pastels and markers. I like chalk pastels because when you blend different colors it looks really cool. I like markers because the colors are very pretty and neat.
4. One challenge that I ran into was not being able to figure out how to draw certain objects like a tiger. To fix this, I looked up a picture of a tiger for inspiration.
5. I think I need to improve my sketching/drawing skills because right now, my art doesn't look very realistic. One goal is to practice my drawing during free draw times. 
6. I would like to work with other materials like paint or clay. Coming up with ideas for Inktober was challenging at first, but I feel like I have now overcome that and just draw what comes to mind instead of trying to overthink about it.  
I think I could improve on shading and getting different textures in my drawing. I would like to go back to my bone drawing and work on the shading in it.

because it was something new. I liked being able to go around campus and find cool spots to take pictures.

I liked working with paint a lot. I liked being able to mix black and white in with colors to get different shades of the color.

If I had to teach art 1 I would keep the photography and pop ups. I would add a different variety of ideas so we aren’t doing the same things as often.

In this class I got better at drawing and revising my work. I am more confident in what I make now.

Sometimes I need to problem solve when I am making something with paint and my colors mix and become ugly. I enjoyed making our free draw projects the most because I got to explore different kinds of materials and art style.

The materials I enjoyed using the most are pencils for sketching, paint, and water color.

i would keep the planet exercise and the open studio. i would add more sketching project so our drawing can improve as a whole.

a big takeaway from this class for me was how to use texture in my drawings. it helped my people and landscapes become more realistic.

an example where i needed to adapt was when we did the project with the big black paper and the emotion of our choice. i originally thought i was finished but you told me to keep adding so i had to adapt and think of more meaningful things to add.

3. I would keep open studio time and add more photo editing to get people ready for photography sophomore year. I would add more water color projects personally because I like watercolor. 
4. In this class I learned new techniques to improve my skills in art. I improved my painting skills by learning new techniques such as wet on wet.

I liked finding the different images or words and mixing them together to create something cool. I also really liked how we made collages in the book as well. My favorite material was water color. I loved how it created a light pretty image. I think i got comfortable with it pretty quickly, or more skilled with it at least. If I had to teach Art 1 next year I would definitely keep the collage making portion. I would’ve make it a longer lesson though because I think that we could’ve made a really cool poster or something if we kept going on with the collage. What I took away from this class is definitely sketching. I think that i got a lot better at sketching and details like shadowing. I needed to problem solve this year when I was doing my portrait. There were a lot of times where problems came up that i did not really know how to fix.
