He was a quaker that opened his house up to slaves and eventually became known as the&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; "President of the Underground Railroad". Coffin was also once a slave as it states on wikipedia saying "Born in North Carolina , Coffin was exposed to and developed an opposition to slavery as a child."(Wikipedia, Levi Coffin)</div>]]></description>

         <title>After Slavery Ended</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After slavery ended Levi Coffin traveled around the seas and went to France and Great Britain. When he got to these places he helped bring supplies to former slaves. Later when Coffin retired in the 1870's he wrote an autobiography called  "Reminiscences of Levi Coffin". He wrote this when he was 76, a year before he died.</div>]]></description>
