With her art work she usually uses like paper/cardboard print outs of images which on the picture that have a lot of detail but when it is printed out it makes the image feel more flat but having these images that would usually pop out being flat an static backgrounds adds a pleasing aspect to her work. For techniques it really only looks like she takes close of up photos of printouts of images and bends and distorts them on a static background and slightly under exposes all of her images to make the blacks

Ruth van Beek says “I do not have a message to convey, it is not my intention to change the world or make political statements. But my work does react to the goings-on of daily life. News, fairytales and theatre are all mixed together” and in this context its almost like she wants to draw people in to her version of conveying of her goings of daily life but then twists them as she says “I think my work makes the viewer uncomfortable because I turn objects into characters and abstract shapes into living beings”
