I believe that Blended Learning would be a good way to provide different ways for students to learn. It would also continue the learning at home in a way that would benefit the student. For example, if a student did not understand a concept, they can rewind the video and go over it again, whereas they are unable to rewind the teacher while at school!
I have used this in my own classroom - due to multiple absences, multiple times during week. What I experienced was some students did not have access to Internet - we (the school) did not have enough hotspots for students. So that was an excuse for not during assignments. Also, some students were unable to log onto the programs or something. But then again - some students just didn't care and didn't do anything!

I read Catlin Tucker's article "Top 10 Reasons that Blended Learning is Worth the Hype". In the artifice she mentions the reasons/benefits of Blended Learning, one of which is more one on one time with students. As a middle school teacher, I definitely feel that I don't get enough individualized time with all of my students. With 5 periods in the day, each less than an hour, I often find myself just "trying to get things done" in order to get the content to my students. I would love to try more blended learning lesson opportunities in order to better serve my students and create more student/teacher time. I think this is necessary at the middle school level.

I found that blended learning can be more engaging for students and allow them to be more in charge of their learning. I also found a cool site that was mentioned in the articles about Collaborize Classroom where students watch a video and can answer questions on it about an interesting topic. This is just an idea for maybe one station you can do in your classroom where students do that, then there can be another offline station.

Hyperdocs are one of the true Redefinition tech applications for education...we can transform how students access, react to, interact with, and document their learning at their own pace and in their own way.
