It was a GREAT course with GREAT PEOPLE and well spent ten days. I would repeat anytime. Cultural heritage is my favourite topic, deeply connected with subjects I teach in the school and values I would like to pass to my pupils. Cultural heritage is something that can define us as community and help us to built our identity. This can happen in a proper way only if our culture interacts with others and if we understand that other point of view. Showing respect one to another is something that help us built better future together. In Guadeloupe we got to live the dream and enjoy its beautiful natural and cultural heritage. We played drums, learned how to feel the rhythm and improvise dances. Also, we had chance to hear pupils storytelling and interact with many local people. That gave us insight in the culture and genuine experience. It was very interesting to see how local schools work and get in interaction with teachers and pupils there. I loved the visit to the local market, snorkeling in the Caribbean sea and enjoying local food. I have learned many things about islands difficult history. Yet, that difficult history helped to shape the way people of Guadeloupe are today: open, kind, easy going people that enjoy life, singing and dancing. They are quite tolerant because they are a mixture of different cultures. I will surely use knowledge I gained here in many ways in personal and professional life. I also wanted to say that the course is well organised and the whole island is one big outdoor classroom. Who would not love that?

Thank you Rita for this well thought out program, combining so sensitively culture and nature.

It has been such a gift to share the cultural dialogue with you as inspiring course leader and learn from you about cultural heritage and the importance of safeguarding it. I have won a lot of of insights which I can transfer and rely on on a personal scale as well.

The practical course method has really engaged us participants in every step. Adding to that the various encounters with the local people in schools, the Creole Garden, on excursions and so on a really formed unforgettable memories and let me explore their rich culture and their well respected nature.

The well arranged and encouraged discussions in the familiar and trusting group have been inspiring and memorable. So as the further implementation in my teaching and educational career is concerned I will now put the focus even more and unconditionally on developing my students’ understanding and learning of their own culture and the impact that this can have while mingling with other cultures, traveling and seeing or experiencing the world.

I would highly recommend this unique course in this paradisiac environment and atmosphere. Everyone should have this rich and valuable experience to broaden their personal spirit and mind and enrich their way of life and the world view.

Well orginised and adaptable. The course has a clear purpose to enrich its participants and give us not just a look into an exotic culture but to give us the opportunity to really interact with the people and learn about a big part of a past none of us can or should forget. We all have a responsibility to remember the past and learn from it in order to move towards a better future. I read a section in our course material that really resonated to me: "Adichie Andreotti argues that fixed ideas of culture are connected to the binary wasy of thinking that set things up as "either-or" - like/unlike, us/them, same/different - in a way that is not possible to be "both-and", thus creating a distance between cultures. A distance in my opinion we need to close. Thank you so much for this amazing experience.

I Think it has been an unusual experience and I find myself being Very lucky to have been a part of it. I Think it's an unusual experience because we have been invited to see so Many different things that we wouldn't have seen as turists in Guadaloupe. It has been a very educational project. I have learned a lot about culture in Guadaloupe and have seen schools and gardens that emphasize what I have read about Guadeloupe.
I want to thanks you Rita for an unforgettable experience in Guadeloupe.

First of all thank you very much Rita for the very well organised course - full of passion - I had the opportunity to attend to. I am very grateful for that. Without your preparation I could never have been able to experience and learn about the gouadeloupian culture in the outstanding way I did. Every day we were able to discover a new exotic place and to meet warm-hearted people who opened their houses, schools, gardens showing their natural heritage. That made the course so colourful - in the same way like Guadeloupe is. Despite from that it was not only the dialogue between the course leader and the people from Guadeloupe which was inspiring for me but also the talks and exchange of ideas between the course members. My luggage is way heavier now than it was before because of all the new ideas, positive memories and experiences I'll take with me.

Here we come together school teachers and one kindergarten teacher;). We come from diferent Europien countries; Germany, Denmark, Finland, Croatia, Lituania and Slovenia.
We visited two elementary schools and kindergarten and wherever we come, children's smiles and their curious eyes awaited us. Children are open, cheerful and curious and they are constantly moving as if they hear the rhythms of African drums and music. People are very friendly and communicative. We learn about their history, tradition, customs ...
Every day we have a homework and with the help of new computer programs we describe and present what we learned.
Of course, in the afternoon, we also have some time to dive, swim, socialize and share experiences.
I would like to thank very much to Rita Stoskiene, for a great organization of the course, for her kindnes, patience, care and support in everything we've went through together in this two weeks. Also I would like to thank Michel for driving us to all the places we needed to visit.
I'm happy to meet all the teacher from diferent countries and share with them my expiriences in the field of education.
I was enjoying socializing with them during lunches and diners and during our free time on the beach.
I definitly recomend this course to all who would like to learn more about history and heritage of Guadaloupe.
