         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Fold one piece of blue paper into fourths</div><div>Create a square inside each section that is 2x2 inches</div><div>&nbsp;2. Place the glass pane on top of the colored paper</div><div>Label the three SPF levels and the control on the glass using the dry-erase marker</div><div>3. Measure ⅛ tsp of each SPF and put each SPF on the labeled section it matches</div><div>4. Apply the SPF to the glass over the square as if you were applying it to your skin</div><div>5. Leave the paper with the glass on top of it for 10 hours in direct sunlight</div><div>6. After ten hours, remove the glass</div><div>7. Take a picture of the paper to note the different effects of the control and sunscreen on the paper</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>7:00 am: No observable change. It just has been exposed to sunlight</div><div>2:50 pm: </div><ul><li>The control faded the most and had no SPF protection.(65%) Exposed to direct sunlight.</li><li>15 SPF faded about 45%. The lotion has almost completely dissolved from the glass.</li><li>30 SPF faded about 40%. The lotion became clear but was still there.</li><li>50 SPF faded about 15%. The lotion was still thick and white on the glass.</li></ul><div>5:25 pm:</div><ul><li>The control is still faded the most and still has no SPF protection.(75% to 80%) Exposed to direct sunlight for over ten hours </li><li>15 SPF faded about 50%. Lotion is clear and almost dissolved.</li><li>30 SPF faded about 55% to 60% percent. The lotion is mostly gone from the glass it has seemed to dissolve rapidly in the heat of the day. </li><li>50% SPF faded about 15% to 20%. The lotion has remained  thick and white throughout the day</li></ul>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The control has the greatest amount change in color/fading.</div><div>The 15 and 30 SPF has similar results in color change/ fading (50% to 60%).  It should be noted that the 30 SPF lotion was a generic brand and the least expensive.</div><div>The 50 SPF had the least amount of change in the color change/ fading.(15% to 20%)</div><div> </div><div>Overall the sunscreen with the greatest protection was the 50 SPF with ⅛ tsp of sunscreen on a 2x2 square. The thing that surprised me is that the 30 generic had a higher percentage than the 15 SPF in color change/ fading.</div><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>My hypothesis was supported by the 50 SPF, but not by the generic 30 SPF throughout the ten hours of sunlight. The effect might have changed if I had taken enough time so that the amount of sunscreen was exact. In the future I will make sure that the measurements of the sunscreen or more accurate. It would be interesting to see if all name brand sunscreens will have better protection than the generic brands.  </div><div><br></div>]]></description>
