In this article, it explains who David Milgaard is and how the false testimonies of his friends led to his wrongful conviction. David Milgaard spent 23 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. It all started on January 31, 1969, when him and his friends decided to go on a road trip from Regina to Vancouver. They had set out to pick up Albert in Saskatoon, they arrived at 9 am that following day. Unknown to anyone, Larry Fisher was a serial rapist who lived in the basement of Albert’s house. On March 2, 1969, Albert decided to contact police in regards that David Milgaard was acting suspicious on the morning of Gail’s murder. Albert stated that he remembers seeing the blood of David on Gail’s clothing.

End result: Wrongfully Conviction and 10 million dollar compensation

This video and article explains the wrongful conviction and the compensation of 10 million dollars to David Milgaard for being incarcerated for 23 years of his life. I believe 10 million dollars doesn't take into consideration the pain he has to deal with for the rest of his life. 10 million dollars is of course a huge chunk of money and people who are wrongfully convicted should indeed get compensation. The amount of compensation is solely based on how many years were spent in prison. This video includes the compensation David received and how the government did wrong and is now paying him.
