In short, it’s an investment company and its major focus is investing in shipping companies. Many investments have been made by the company as of now.  Many achievements have been made by the company as of now. Firstly, it invested in around 8 MR Tankers in the year 2016. Then, it expanded the fleet of Oman Ship Management and invested in more 9 vessels. It has also got the best “Shipping Company” award in 2016 by SeaTrade Maritime Awards. 

Even the management company has got an award in 2016. The fleet covers various areas of shipping and they include LPG tanker, Container markets, methanol tanker, bulk carrier and petrochemical carrier. 

It offers a variety of shipping solutions; some of them include Crude Oil, LNG, Dry Bulk, Containers etc. 

It has around 17 product tankers, 16 VLCCs and 4 chemical carriers. A lot of progress has been seen in liquid cargoes, thanks to these solutions. Many investments were made by the company in petrochemical and mega refining schemes. This further enhanced the shipping capacity of OSC. 

Currently, the company is having around 43 vessels of 8 million DWT. Further, it plans to expand the same to 60 vessels and 10 MR tankers. The company has contributed immensely to promotion of free zones and ports in the Sultanate. Strategic partnerships have also been strengthened with all the businesses. Direct contributions are being made to the ICV i.e. In-Country Value. It follows many standards of safety and also offers reliable and scalable solutions of environmental management. Constant efforts are being made so that Omanis become good Seafarers. It is far different from other shipping companies, thanks to its solutions. 

It has also contributed to the development of maritime and transport industry, thereby leading to supportive growth in other sectors. A good role has been played in linking the Sultanate. This in turn develops the logistics infrastructure. The main goal of OSC is revitalization of the maritime heritage through Omanis’ development. Scholarships are also offered to them in colleges. 

Once the studies are completed job opportunities are offered on the vessels. This is indeed a great thing. As of now, around 183 of them have been offered to the graduate. It’s a high number and reflects how interested people are to work in this industry. 

The maritime industry is promoted with great perfection. The goal of the company is preparing good engineers and navigators so as to enter this industry with perfection.
