Kabul is a city that possess both fragility and beauty, as well as terror and chaos. And you have to sacrifice your safety to live there. Babi and Laila sacrificed their safety to allow Mammy to stay in the city that meant so much to her sons. This is much like Te Fiti in Moana where she can be full of beauty one minute and the next, full of anger and destruction.

Significance of the last Stanza and the sound of heavens trumpets

Saib-e-Tabrizi was personifying Kabul as a woman including light and dark imagery that highlighted the delicacy of Kabul's communal atmosphere. Showing how fast good things can become harmful, such as Mujahideen returning or the blowing sands stinging your eyes. Although you may make these sacrifices for Kabul the poet makes the point that it's worth it for her natural beauty can't be replaced. To capitalize this idea, in the last sentence of the poem he goes as far as to say, " And even the trumpets of heaven envy their green pastures", which puts a holy perspective on Kabul that is a parallel to Fariba's reasoning in why she didn't want to leave.

Kabul is like a rose with thorns and a flower. Their is the light beautiful side and the sharp and more ugly thorns. Kabul is not just a good place but is also not a bad place to be. "Even a white rose has a black shadow". It demonstrates that even the seemingly pure and beautiful objects can hold darkness, much like Kabul.
