         <title>1812-Tecumseh</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>The Shawnee Indians decided to align with the Brititsh. </mark>They did this because they dispised the Americans. This was because they were invading the Natives land and driving them out. They also united many diffrent Native American tribes. They did this to stop American exspanion. Led by Chief Tecumseh and British weapon supplies they attacked many American forts aiding the British in their conquest.</p>]]></description>

         <title>1807-Chesapeake Incident</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark> In June 1807 a British ship called the Leopold met an American one called the  Chesapeake.</mark> The Leopold's captian told them to give up four sailors. The Chesapeake's captain refused and the British opened fired. They took the sailors by force. This incident cause much outrage among the Americans.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>In 1808  James Madison was elected to office.</mark> This helped stir the nation to War because he was a Demo-republican. This was opposed to the Federlist idels and wanted war. In 1812 he went to Congress to convince them to declare war. He was succesfull and the War begun.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>The Embargo Act was passed in 1807 an attempt to force the British and France to stop impressment.</mark> Also it was to get them to respect Americans.This plan backfired and severly hurt the American economy. The law also didn't even hurt the french and British. These reason caused the law to be quickly retracted.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>The tentions with the British were rising and some Americans wanted to fight back</mark>. These people were called War Hawk who wanted to fight Britian.The Federlists didn't want war and tried to find peaceful alternatives.  The war hawks also wanted to take  Canda because they believed they were entitlied to it. This group was led by Senator John C Calhoun of South Carolina(in image above) and Henry Clark of Kentucky.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><em><mark>After the French revolution Napolean declared war on Great Britian.</mark> </em>This war lasted from 1793-1815 and had a large impact on America. As America was still a young country the relied heavily on trade. Their biggest trade partners were France and England. Since both nation hated each other they stopped American merchant ships before they could supply the other with goods. They too they ships crew and forced them to join their armies.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>The war hawks began implementing their plans for exspanion.</mark> They invaded Canda but their lack of experince was evident. While the Americans were busy trying to capture Canda the British took Detroit. The Natives were also very importnt to the victory. The Natives used their unconviential military strategies to defeat Americans. At the end of the day they didn't want America to take aany more land.</p>]]></description>

         <title>1813-War at Sea</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><mark>The British and Americans took the battle to sea. </mark>The Americans were severly outnumbered with only 22 ships when the British had thousands. THe British also blockaded the Chesapeake and Delaware Bays. The blockade grew even larger through the war. By 1813 most American ships couldn't leave ports.</p>]]></description>

The British marched into Wasington D.C and many goverment buildings.</mark> This we revenge for during the invasion of Canada American destroyed buildings. Dolley Madison (james Madison's wife)saved a famous painting of George Washington. If she hadn't saved it peace of our history woould have been gone. Lastly in the battle of Fort McHenry a man held hostage later made the star-spangled banner.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I<mark>n 1815 the Britianand America met in Ghent,Beligum. </mark>They discussed Impressment and it ended with the two nations become stornger allies. America also gained respect from other nations. It also futher damaged our relationship with the Natives.  Finnaly in New Orleans Andrew Jackson won a hard battle the had no value because the war already ended. During this time period news took weeks to arive.</p>]]></description>
