<title>Fake News Resources for High School Educators by Sarah Liles</title>
      <link>https://padlet.com/sarahjliles/fakenewsresourcesforteens</link>
<description>The rapid spread of misinformation has dire consequences for individuals, societies, and the entire globe. More than ever, it&#39;s crucial for educators to cover critical topics like fake news, misinformation, and digital media literacy. They should offer learners a comprehensive look at how misinformation and disinformation are created, disseminated, and consumed. According to a study performed by the Stanford History Education Group on students&#39; civic online reasoning, high school students largely struggle with identifying misinformation online (link to study below under Resources &amp; Lesson Plans). This curated collection of articles, videos, lesson plans, games, and more aims to equip high school educators with resources to give their students essential skills to evaluate information, identify deceptive tactics, and foster a more informed and responsible sense of digital citizenship. Use this collection as a compass to navigate the ocean of online information. Articles, Videos, &amp; More includes pieces of media teachers can provide students to read or watch as part of a lesson plan, activity, or homework. Resources &amp; Lesson Plans includes content to help teachers cover the topic. Activities include games, assignments, and worksheets to assess student knowledge on the subject.</description>
