Unlike the communists, who simply redistributed and collectivized the land through forceful measures, Diem needed to keep the peasant-landlord social relationship. Candidates could not speak to groups more than 5 people or have their name written about in the newspaper.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Due to the disastrous state of private property in the country, Diem launched another genius land reform campaign. Based off of the British experiment in Malaya, agrovilles were built around Vietnam to quarantine the peasants from communist ideology. Obviously, this proved unrealistic and failed. Not a lot of people were keen on moving away from their ancestral land and small gated communities could not stop the ideology of Marx and Lenin. </div>]]></description>

Under the diplomatic supervision of Charles de Gaulle, unification would only occur if the Americans left. The body was buried in an unmarked grave. The coup, sponsored by the Americans, was done with professionality and clean. At the age of 62, Diem was no more. </div>]]></description>
