loose tounged/careless
“I’m just tired of hearing about God all the time. What has He got to do with anything. Does He pay tuition? … It’s just that I get tired of Him getting credit for all the things the human race achieves through its own stubborn effort. There simply is no blasted God—there is only man and it is he who makes miracles!” p.50
This quote shows Beneatha is loose tounged because she knows how much her mom and grandmom believes in god and that she relies on god. So for Beneatha to say that in front of them wasn't really nice and she should of thought about what she said before she said it. Whatever she is thinking she didn't have to say it and it wasn't the right time to say it anyway. Not everything Beneatha thinks she has to say.

And nobody asked me, nobody consulted me – they just went out and changed my life!” p. 143

This quote shows Beneatha is hard-bitten because she has been through so much. Beneatha is very angry at her brother but she isn't gonna let that affect her to much. Beneatha is going to remain strong and do what she has to do because she has been through and she doesn't want to continue to go through it. Hard-bitten comes from going through alot but not always showing it and that's what she does.

I do sympathize for Beneatha. I think that she is a really nice person and is swet to everyone unless they cross her. I feel has though she had a future for herself and would be really great because she wanted to be a doctor and that's helping people. When Walter messed up the money that really crushed her and I felt for her because going to school for being a doctor was really important to her.

I choose this for Beneatha because she is a happy, vibrant person. The Artwork is colorful, she looks happy. Also her smile is big.. she is also black. I think the artwork is trying to convey that the little girl is happy and isn't gonna let anything phase her. I choose this for Beneatha because I feel like she is the same way and she can representthis painting.

When the poem says "We weep, we cry. We plead, we try. We laugh, we smile. Only to be hurt". I think about Beneatha because that sums up something that happened to her. She laughed, smiled, all of that just to be hurt when she found out she doesn't have money to go to school.

Source: https://www.familyfriendpoems.com/poem/hurt-and-pain

I choose this because it described Ruth & Walter relationship. They didn't have much money but they still loved each other. They didn't really base their relationship on not having enough money. They loved each other for who they were and didn't let money affect him.

My topic is Dream vs Reality & my theme is no mattter the sitution still govern what you want to do. A quote to go with what I said is “Get over it? What are you talking about, Ruth? Listen, I’m going to be a doctor. I’m not worried about who I’m going to marry yet – IF I ever get married.” The quote supports the theme because when Beneatha says "listen, im going to be a doctor' she is trying to get it throughtheir heads. Beneatha is going to be a doctor and she doesn't care what anyone has to say and she isn't going to let anyone change her mind. She also says she isn't wooried about who she is going to marry. Beneatha is focused on going to school and isn't worrying about nothing else.
