The students were able to experience pretend planting again. In this photo, you can see different versions of plants.

Alonso said, "I want to plant more seeds so that there will be more plants." He even watered it half full.

Aesha wondered if she could also add more water like Alonso's

Clara on the other hand doesn't want to cover her seed. When asked why she said "because it can't breath"

Teacher Doms addresses all their wondering, assumption, and misconception by saying that everything should be in moderation. Watering the plants so much and putting too many seeds won't help the plants to grow healthy. Moreover, she also said that the seeds should be covered so that they can absorb enough nutrients from the soil and it also serves as their protection.

I am excited to see everyone grow into an amazing individual who is still thrilled to learn and to explore new things. I believe that play is not just play for students but an avenue for them to learn, where teachers can integrate but still make the lesson a lot more fun and interesting while being inclusive, imaginative, and innovative. I may have entered the Playworks family a little late but I still hope that we would still get along very well.

They also recalled that you can't look, go to, or touch the sun because it will burn you!

When we asked them how the skies look like during the day, they said that the sky is bright and light blue in color but, as we are about to go out, it started raining!

After our circle time, we had a little discussion about rain.

The kids remembered that the rain is from a body of water, stored in the cloud and when the clouds are heavy, the rain falls down back on the lake (bodies of water).

While looking at the screen, Aesha said that there are colors on the sky after raining (rainbow).

Clara pointed out that rain falls from the ground and the grass (plants) absorbs the water from the ground after raining.

Vlada observed that the sky turns dark blue in color when it's sunny.

While looking at the screen, Clara observed that the clouds are different from when it was raining, and after the rain ended. She said that the clouds when it was raining was humonguous while the side where the rain ended has a small clouds left.

Let's remember this observations, and we'll see where their interest would go!

Hello, friend!

We met a friend today. His name was Dr. Binocs! He helped us understand more what happens after it rains.

In the video, we saw the water cycle, and how the rainbows are formed. Water cycle starts with evaporation as the water vapors goes up into the sky. Then condensation happens and after that is precipitation! This happens when the rain falls from the heavy clouds!

The water droplets from the clouds acts as a prism that shows different colors in the sky called the rainbow! This rainbow are all different because the viewer has seen different water droplets.

Heres the link for the video, if we want to go back!

Exploring what happens after it rains!

Since it was sunny outside, we have to recreate our own rain with the use of our makeshift cloud and a body of water!

But before we explore the rain, the kids answered some questions first like how does rain form?

they said that the water from the bodies of water like oceans, lakes, and rivers, would go up and when it's too heavy, the rain would fall down!

Clara pointed out that when the water vapor goes up, that's called evaporation, while precipitation was when the rain falls down from the cloud whenever it gets too heavy. We also saw that when it's raining in some areas, other places don't. That means that weather changes in every area of the world.

Aside from that, we also saw how the rain falls down on different plants and to the ground. We were able to look at the mud puddles made due to heavy rainfall. Moreover, we also had the chance to recall what happens with the water that goes from the plants. The kids said that water was needed in order for the plants to grow and this takes place as the soil sips the rainwater. Clara then observe how the water stays on the soil whenever there were no plants planted on a certain part of the ground.

Aren't you glad we found the circle song?

Before we start exploring different toys, we started our circle time first!

As a different activity to make circle time more engaging for everyone, we brought back the Aiken drum song again. Everybody laughed at how silly the Aiken drum looks like, however, Caleigh shared her thoughts about not liking to play the Aiken drum song for the next few days. We love how each one of us is openly sharing our feelings and ideas in class.
