Romeo and Juliet’s actions led to their own demise. It was their fault that they fell in love, because being in a family feud didn’t stop them. Being teenagers didn’t help because of how impulsive they are. In the following quote, Romeo states that he despises fate. Although Romeo blames Juliet’s “death” on fate, he was the one who could’ve prevented it in the end. “My only love sprung from my only hate! Too early seen unknown, and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me, that I must love a loathed enemy.” (Act 1: Scene 5)

Romeo and Juliets death was their own fault. They didn’t take time to think it through. If they really sat down and thought of what was happening or what needed to be done it might of worked, but they went behind everyone’s back. And they thought being sneaky would really work out in the end. Romeo just wants to marry Juliet because she’s pretty and had given attention to Romeo. Juliet, well she kind of just got one little sip of love and she thought that everything was gonna be unicorn and rainbows, and 3’ 7” elves running everywhere.
Act 2 Scene 2. “By and by, I come:- To cease thy suit, and leave me to my grief. To-morrow will I send.” (She is already deciding to marry him)

They acted impulsive and sensitive. “But my true love is grown to such excess, I cannot sum up sum of half my wealth.” (Act 2: Scene 6) They were both pretty mature because of how high their family was ranked and what they were taught, but they were still teenagers.

Secrets drastically changed the plot of Romeo and Juliet. If Romeo and Juliet would have announced they were getting married then it might have stopped the family feud. It would’ve prevented all of the deaths that happened because of the feud. Juliet wouldn’t have been asked to marry Paris, and Romeo wouldn’t have been banished. “I pray you, tell my lord and father, madam, I will not marry yet; and when I do, I swear, It shall be Romeo, whom you know I hate, Rather than Paris. These are news indeed!” (Act 3, Scene 5)

In Romeo and Juliet, the two main characters Romeo and Juliet fell in love at first sight. The two characters Romeo and Juliet are young adults with impulsive minds. Juliet is a innocent young adult, and listens to her parent’s orders. Juliet and Romeo first met each other at her father’s party. Juliet told her mother before the party that she’ll try to fall in love with Paris. Juliet didn’t really know what love was before the party and decided to get marry with Romeo after meeting him for only one night. The impulsiveness between the two characters lead to many problems in the story. “Three words, dear Romeo, and good-night indeed. If that thy bent of love be honourable, They purpose marriage, send me word to-morrow.” (Act 2, Scene 2)

In Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare writes the importance of family. The character Juliet is an obedient young adult, and listens to her parent’s suggestions. Lord Montague and Lady Montague cares for Romeo’s feelings. When Romeo was heartbroken over Rosaline, they asked Benvolio to check up on Romeo, and see if he’s alright. When Tybalt wanted to fight Romeo at the court, Romeo didn’t want to fight with him since he was married with Juliet. “To sunder his that was thine enemy? Forgive me, cousin!” (Act 5, Scene 3) When Romeo was about to kill himself he asked for Tybalt’s forgiveness.

In Romeo and Juliet, characters had the free will to make the decision and create their own story. The choices of the characters lead to their endings of the story. Juliet taking the potion, and not thinking about what could happen or if there was another way. Friar Lawrence not thinking about how his plan might go wrong. The choices the characters make impacts the plot of the play, because Romeo and Juliet’s decision lead to their death. “Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks, and death’s pale flag is not advanced there.” (Act 5, Scene 3) Romeo before deciding to kill him, could have noticed that Juliet might still be alive, because of the color of her face. Noticing the color could have changed the tragedy ending-of “Romeo and Juliet”. The decision the characters make tells their story, and different choices would have different endings and pathways. The choice the character Romeo and Juliet made is part of their story and path.
