Before the United States of America became what it is today we have to talk about the origin of it, I know I know kind of boring but come on it´s pretty interesting!
Between the dates of May 25th - September 17th, 1787, there was a very important event that created our constitution and determined the fate of our country. The name of this event was called The Constitutional Convention. The Constitutional Convention was technically a meeting or you could say convention in where 55 state delegates met up to discuss the ongoing issues that were not resolved or not talked about whatsoever at the same time. There were a lot of issues and topics discussed but the main topics that were controversial and mentioned a lot at the time were; `
bill of rights, powers of the president, slavery, representation that took place in congress, and the electoral college, etc. .

Another difference is what those 2 parts of congress represent.

The House of Representatives represents the Districts of a state the districts are determined by the population of a state, depending on how many districts there are will determine how many votes that state gets. While in the Senate the representation is a bit different. How is it different?? Well, the members in the Senate represent a whole state.

Why do we have Checks and Balances?🤔
Checks and Balances is a system in which keeps each branch of the government from having more power than the other. ❌💪
Examples of Checks and Balances are;
-Congress creates the laws and passes laws but once Congress passes laws those laws the President then reviews the laws and can either approve of those laws or can veto those laws ✅❌.
Another example would be the President nominates Judges to the Supreme Court but Congress has to approve of the nomination. 🏛️
- A final example is when the President can veto a law passed by congress but Congress can override that veto.

We have Checks and Balances because our Founding Father had feared giving one person or a group all the power and in spite of that fear they created Checks and Balances. 🥳

The 3/5´s compromise was a compromise made at the Constitutional convention in where 3/5 of the slave population would technically recognized by the government. How would they be recognized?, They would be recognized by being included into population for taxation and for representation regarding the House of Representatives.

The Slave compromise gave congress the opportunity to have taxes on the imported slaves as well as allowed slaves to be imported. By the way that the compromise was written in the constitution I think it shows that the constitution sees these slaves as objects unless congress needs them which in this case 3/5´s compromise plays a role.

An Amendment is a change or addition to the Constitution.
-A right from the Bill of Rights is for example the 2nd amendment in which states that citizen´s have the right of freedom of speech, freedom of press, freedom of assembly. I believe that this right is important because I believe that the people should be able to express themselves in any way that they can about anything or anyone. I think people should be able to have their opinion and voice heard.
-An amendment that was added later on was the 15th amendment in which the citizens of United States can vote no matter what race , social class or even color.
I believe that this right is important because no man or person should feel excluded from voting and basically getting their voice heard.

A Supreme court case that I think is important to history is Plessy vs Ferguson.
After Plessy tested a Lousiana state law, he was imprisoned and forcefully removed from the railway car when he refused to give up his seat where the seating area was made for the whites. this case became extremely controversial as well as really talked about that it went to the highest court in the United States which is the Supreme Court and the court ultimately decided that it was legal for things to be segregated as long as "everyone was included".
I think this case is extremely important this case essentially legalized segregation by calling it constitutional in the United States as well as became the foundation of segregation in which would impact the people as well as the history of the country for a long time.

How could everyone be and feel represented there was no man of color that could speak on behalf of everyone was of color like for example black people.
The people of color just had to go with whatever was thrown at them because they were really powerless as well as voiceless at the time because they had no one that could speak for them that wasn´t white and didn´t have experience being a black male in that specific time.

A strength that I would focus on of the constitution is the separation of powers why do I say separation of powers? Well the reason why I say separation of power is I believe that the constitution has done a really good job separating the powers and making it equal for all 3 branches so we could avoid dictatorship or just having 1 group/ person in charged of the whole country. I think it´s important because without separation of powers I think our country wouldn´t be a good one if 1 person/group ruled over what the people have to say as well as make the decisions.

In my opinion, the constitution isn´t 100% perfect but to be honest, I think that the constitution gives a very good sense of how every human being should be treated, the United States of America has fundamentally promised its people equality, a sense of power, respect, freedom, and Justice (etc.) and to prove of such promises the country alongside its people have created the constitution to make sure that these promises are fulfilled and be enforced. As if it were a contract to the people and country. We the people that helped and make up this country shouldn´t take for granted the opportunity that this country has provided and is providing that not every other country is doing so. But at the same time, we have to speak up if what was promised to us is being taken away or violated, we have to make sure that these promises are being enforced and not taken away. We can do this by expressing our opinions or thoughtsin in different forms like; protesting, posting on social media, spreading the word, holding the government accountable, and reaching out to government officials.
