 Just the word congress is confusing but let us break down for you the difference between the House and the Senate. 
A difference between the House and the Senate is that the members who work for the House are elected every 2 years unlike in the Senate that those members are elected every 6, years. Another difference is what those 2 parts of congress represent. 

The House of Representatives represents the Districts of a state the districts are determined by the population of a state, depending on how many districts there are will determine how many votes that state gets. While in the Senate the representation is a bit different. How is it different?? In order to get the job of a Justice, you must fit the requirements which are; none.

Appointment process; 
-The President will discuss their nomination with Senators
-The President nominates the candidate in mind
-The Judiciary Committee reviews the nomination and in doing so the Senate holds a hearing
-The hearing process happens
-The Judiciary Committee votes on the nomination 
-The Senate debates the nomination
-Once the Senate stops debating the Senate votes on the nomination
-If the majority votes for the nominee then it will be announced and confirmed.

Examples of Checks and Balances are;

Another example would be the President nominates Judges to the Supreme Court but Congress has to approve of the nomination. 🏛️
- A final example is when the President can veto a law passed by congress but Congress can override that veto.

As if it were a contract to the people and country. But at the same time, we have to speak up if what was promised to us is being taken away or violated, we have to make sure that these promises are being enforced and not taken away.
