The UAE, like many of it's brother nations, is , along with its resources, extremely rich in its history. This area is known to have dated back to the time period when people migrated through these lands from Asia to Africa. Foreign trade is one of their known specialties today, but this actually hasn't been recent. Dating back to the late second millenium B.C, they were well known for their domestication of camels and irrigation techniques which proved them prosperous. Pearls were also a famous trade among them during the late nineteenth/ early twentieth centuries, however this luxury industry ended in the process of WWII's economic depression along with Japan's competition of the cultured pearl and heavy taxes on their imports to the Government of India. Luckily for their oil resources and their strong leader Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, they were able to progress fiscally nationwide.

British being a superpower, felt the need to take over these lands too, but in the year of 1968, they decided to begin withdrawing. Sheikh Zayed,Ruler’s Representative in Abu Dhabi's Eastern Region (who eventually succeeded his brother as Ruler), brought the six emirates (Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah, Umm al-Qaiwain and Ajman) together to make the Trucial States we know today as the United Arab Emirates. Later on the UAE was linked with the seventh emirate, Ra’s al-Khaimah along with Quatar and Bahrain to complete the federation.

Many believed this nation would have many many struggles if they even remained together, however, Sheik Zayed definitely proved them wrong because this nation flourishes as being in the top three of richest nations in the world and even the number one richest city in the world!
