Many painting served as a way to express the views of the people and the events that were going on around them. According to an article "Many works of Renaissance art depicted religious images" ("RENAISSANCE ART"). Although many of the painting drawn during this time where paintings that were themed around religion, many artists painted scenes of war, the wealth of leaders, and scenes from Greek mythology. This is important as it depicts how the people during the European Renaissance saw religious as one of the most important thing in their lives and made sure to incorporate religion in everything that when on during their day. Sculpting was also a huge art form during this period. Many sculptors sculpted sculptures that resembled either Greek or Roman men and women. Sculptures were important as it shows how the people of the Renaissance viewed leaders and how they were still connected too their Greek and Roman background.

How Each Form of Expression Influenced Modern Times.

You may be asking yourself "How does theater, poetry, and art effect my daily life?" The building that you pass every day can be tied back to the Renaissance. Many architects looked to the Greeks and Romans for inspiration when it came to their buildings. Architecture was seen by many as an art form. Thus as people in modern day marveled at the buildings that were made during the Renaissance, which as previously stated, were of the Greek and Roman influence, people began wanting their houses and skyscrapers made in a similar fashion. Examples include the Chrysler Building, the Empire State Building, and many other skyscrapers. You know those fancy houses with the pillars? Influenced by the Greeks and Popularized by the architects of the Renaissance. When it comes to theater, no one was more influential then Shakespeare. As stated in "William Shakespeare’s Impact on Theatre", "William Shakespeare is often credited with having a profound influence on language, literature, theater, and other elements of culture. It would not be difficult to argue that we owe most of modern storytelling’s characteristics to Shakespeare." The way books are written, modern plays, modern movies, even the way we talk, can all be attributed to William Shakespeare and the many other play-writers of the Renaissance Period. Poetry during the Renaissance has a HUGE impact on us today. From how we express ourselves lyrically, to giving us a view of how life was like during the Renaissance. They effects of popularizing poetry in the Renaissance was huge can still be felt today.

Religion and It's Influence on Expressionism During the Renaissance.

Although this may not have anything to do with how people who were involved in these forms of expression expressed themselves, religion played a major role in inspiring them.
It was once said, "For once you have tasted flight you will walk the earth with your eyes turned skywards, for there you have been and there you will long to return" (Leonardo da Vinci). The quote shows how for most (because Leonardo da Vinci was a very influential character during this time) religion was a major part of there everyday life. For many sculptors, play-writers, and artists, religion played an important part in influencing their works and day-to-day lives.
