•People with shigellosis should not use anti-diarrheal medication such as Imodium or Lomotil because theses medications may make symptoms worse. 
•Your Dr. or health care provider can prescribe antibiotics for those who have a severe cases. Antibiotics include Ciprofloxacin and Azithromycin.
