Which is something that we see in this scene with the old woman and her son, when he denied to do what the army ordered him to do he was threatened with death. However this wasn't enough to make the son waiver in his decision and so there was another threat made which was to kill their cattle. This made the son change his mind because the cattle was the only thing that was keeping their family going. Since it is going to be surprise attack against the town, the people in the town would not have enough time to get their defenses ready. Even if they were able to get their defenses ready in time, however, there is no way that their defenses would be strong enough to defend the town from the troops, the damage that the town would have received would have been too great. This is why this meme is perfect for this part of the scene, because it shows a man saying "all troops invade" and this man, at the same time, is thinking "easy points lol." When Kattrin decided to alert the citizens of the town by banging on the drums, she had already accepted the fact that she may die. The soldiers and the old woman that was praying did everything they could to avoid killing her like promising not to kill her or her mother, threatening to stone her, the old woman tried to conceal the noise of the drums but it did not work, and they threatened to smash her wagon, and they even considered setting the farm on fire, but all these threats and actions failed to make Kattrin stop. In fact their attempts made Kattrin laugh, and that is when one of the soldiers shoot and kill her but it was already too late, the people of the town have been alerted of the situation and began to defend.
