I have come to terms with how I believe in God and with how other's thoughts and ideas about Him have shaped mine beliefs. For my essential truth I choses a quote from Pope Francis. He tells to accept what we have been given because God would not have given it to us unless He knew we were capable of having it. This has come into my mind many times throughout this semester alone. I have been forced to deal with friendships falling apart and having no way to fix it, with my grandfather getting cancer, and with starting a new school abandoned by the people who I thought were my best friends. This quote was not something I just found for the purpose of this assignment but something I have been looking back on this entire semester. This quote says how to accept everything and to move on with how the world is because this is how God intended it to be; this is how God is showing you how much you can do. 
I have grown tremendously this semester. I have made new friends that have not only made me a better person but have now allowed me to be who I really am instead of being scared that they will leave me. I had the ability to understand my situation and realized how to thrive in it. I have also learned how much people have an impact on you; you never realize when you meet someone but that person could end up changing your life. God gives us that ability and this quote finally lets us perceive what God's truth is for us and what our essential truth is. 
My faith has grown because I have not only learned what other's views are but I have learned what their experiences have been too. It has shaped my belief because I can see what He has done for other people. I have been in question about God for most of my life and I am only 15. I was born into this faith and did not really get to choose it so I have been living and growing up with ideas of God inside of me but not really understanding and not truly believing that those ideas were true. The experiences of others especially from our "Who is God?" unit truly helped me figure out what my faith means to me. I learned from Alexandra that she truly believes in God and that He is everything including the sad and happy moments. I leaned from Carisa about how she feels God abandoned her when her parents went through their divorce and how she is barely coming to terms with the idea of Him. I have learned so many more pasts of my peers that have truly shaped my future and my present faith. 
I can change the world with my faith if I truly wanted to. I wish I had the understanding I do now during our first assignment when I was talking of my car accident. I could have said how it was okay because God thought I could handle this and thought I was capable for Him to un-shield my life. This quote is currently hanging in my room where I can see it from anywhere. I have told myself this quote so many times but it has truly meant something to me during this semester and has shaped me to the person I am today.
