         <description><![CDATA[<p>First, I learned that heredity is how traits are pass out from parent to their child. For example (this is based on real life experience) my father (Hirooki) likes to play instruments and mother (Mercedes) has a really loud voice because she got it from her parents. Their traits are pass down to me, I like playing instruments too and have a really loud voice. Second what I learned from the video is that let's take spike (the pet snake) as a example from the video, spike has trait, like the patterns in his body, his size, and etc. This traits are coded in his DNA, some of traits that he inherited can be influenced by the environment. For short, spike inherited his traits from his mother and father. Thirdly I learned that, genes can be turned on and off by a variety of mechanisms, it's called gene regulation. We have a lot of DNA, when it's compacted, it can be organized into a unit called a chromosome, chromosomes in the body Involve DNA wrapped around the protein structures. Humans have 46 chromosomes, it means nearly every body cell in our body has 46 chromosomes, in the other hand both sperm and egg cell each has 23 chromosomes, so we receive 23 chromosomes from our mother, and another 23  chromosomes from our father to give us our 46 chromosomes, our genetic code. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>The video tackles about heredity and its connections to traits, DNA (Deoxyribonucleic Acid), genes, and chromosomes. Heredity is the passing down of traits from parents to their offspring; either through asexual or sexual reproduction. In this process, the offspring cells or organisms acquire the genetic information of their parents. A trait is a specific characteristic of a living organism. In the example shown in the video, a snake’s traits are the patterns on its body and even its size. However, some traits that a living organism inherits can be influenced by the environment. For example, if an individual lacks the nourishments he/she needs, that could affect his/her size. Meanwhile, DNA or Deoxyribonucleic Acid is a type of nucleic acid that contains the genetic code that is unique to every individual. Nucleic acids are made up of building blocks called nucleotides. Nucleotides have 3 parts: deoxyribose, phosphate, and the base. The most important part is the base because the sequence of the bases actually code for traits. There are four types of bases, which are Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, and Guanine. The sequence of these bases will vary among different species and different individuals. DNA also has two strands, having nucleotides running up on both sides. The bases are what pair in the middle, which are held together by hydrogen bonds. Furthermore, DNA has a beautiful structure; double helix is a term used to describe the physical structure of DNA. In addition, DNA also tells how tall you are, what color your eyes are, what color your hair is, or even if you are at risk for certain illnesses. Portions of DNA make up genes. Genes can code for proteins which have a primary role in expressing a trait. Proteins coded for by genes play a wide variety of roles such as producing the eye color pigment, acting as enzymes that can make all kinds of material, or even in protecting the body. However, not all genes are used to make protein. Meanwhile, when lots of DNA are compacted, it can be organized into a unit named a chromosome. Chromosomes in the body has DNA wrapped around protein structures. Humans have 46 chromosomes. On the other hand, The human sperm and egg cells each have 23 chromosomes. Meaning to say that we received 23 chromosomes from our mother and 23 chromosomes from our father which gave us our 46 chromosomes, our genetic code. In conclusion, we see genes on a single chromosome. These genes have portions of DNA. DNA is made up of nucleotides which have bases, and the sequence of these bases is what makes the difference in coding traits.</p>]]></description>

DNA has a unique stucture called a <strong>Double Helix</strong> resembling a twisted ladder. DNA stands for <strong>Deoxyribonucleic Acid</strong> it’s a type of nucleic acid, nucleic acid are type of biomolicule. Like spike, your entire DNA codes is in most of your body cells. DNA means Deoxyribonucleic Acid, DNA is made up of nucleotide. Nucleotide have 3 parts (1) Sugar- Deoxyribose, (2) Phosphate and lastly, (3) Base- the most important. </p><p><br/></p><p>So far, There are 4 types of DNA, the A,T,C &amp; G.  Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, &amp; Guanine. DNA is also twisted something we call a "Double Helix" shape. Human has 46 Chromosomes.          <description><![CDATA[<p>What i learned: I learned so many information today which is essential for understanding heredity.</p><p><br></p><p>Heredity is about how traits are passed down from parent to offspring, through asexual or sexual reproduction. Traits is a specific characteristics of a living organism, it's in our dna. Some of the traits we inherited from our parents can be influenced or changed by the environment.</p><p>For an example, if a person didn't have the nourishment they needed, it could affect their size or their growth. DNA determines how tall a person is, what their eye color is, what their hair color is, and even their risk for certain diseases. Your entire DNA code </p><p>is in most of your body cells. Just a simple hair follicle, nails, saliva can identify a person. DNA stands for Deoxyribonucleic Acid. It's a type of Nucleic acid. Nucleic acids are made of Nucleotides.</p><p>Nucleotides have 3 parts: Deoxyribose which is a sugar, Phosphate, and the Nitrogenous base which is the most important part because the sequence of the base can actually code for traits. There are 4 types of bases in our DNA: the Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, and Guanine.</p><p>Adenine and Thymine are paired together and the same goes for Cytosine and Guanine. They are held together by Hydrogen bonds. Our DNA is also twisted in something we call a double helix shape.</p><p>Portions of DNA makes up genes, let's say a specific part of our DNA makes up a gene and genes can code for proteins.</p><p>Proteins is involved in producing the eye color pigment, proteins are involved in transport, in structure, in acting as enzymes, and protecting the body. But not all of gene are used to make protein, there are parts of DNA that are non coding, even though nearly all of our body cells have our entire DNA code, our body cells may only use certain portions of those genes. Genes can be turned on or off by a variety if mechanisms and we call this "Gene Regulation" Gene regulation refers to the processes that control when, where, and how much a gene is expressed, ensuring cells produce the necessary proteins and maintain proper function. All of us have lots of DNA, when it's compacted, it can be organized into a unit called chromosomes.</p><p>Humans have 46 chromosomes, sperm and egg cells each contain 23 chromosomes, so we receive 23</p><p>chromosomes from our mother and 23 chromosomes from our father which is the reason why we have 46 chromosomes, our genetic code. Like what i said earlier, humans inherit their traits, dna, etc.. from their mother and father, but in asexual reproduction, one only inherit from one parent.</p><p>Thats all, thank you.</p>]]></description>

Nucleic Acids are made up of building blocks called nucleotides and nucleotides have 3 parts: Deoxyribose (sugar), Phosphate, Nitrogenous base. The nucleotide is a base because the sequence of the bases actually code for traits. There are four types of bases in DNA: A (Adenine), T (Thymine), C (Cytosine), and G (Guanine).</p><p>DNA is essential for cells and traits because it contains the genes and needed for an organism to develop, survive and reproduce. Without DNA, cells cannot function without it. </p><p>DNA make up genes, genes are basic units of heredity that contain building proteins and determining traits. When DNA compacted, it can be organized into a unit called chromosome. Human have 46 chromosome, 23 from the sperm cell and 23 egg cell, so that's why we have 46 chromosome in total. DNA is inherited from one’s mother and father. An offspring’s DNA is the combination of their parent’s. Cells in your body cannot function without DNA, in other words, DNA is the nuclei for all the cells that are in your body. DNA determines some of your physical traits like your height, eye color and hair color. It also determines your risk for certain diseases, especially if you have inherited it from your parents. DNA is a type of nucleic acid, and those acids are made up of building blocks called nucleotides. In nucleotides, there is a part called the nitrogenous base, in which it has four types, often classified as A,T,C,G.&nbsp; They stand for Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine and Guanine, respectively. These types of bases pair up for their sequence and they are held together by hydrogen bonds, in which they pair up as A and T and C and G. These bases are what makes up our DNA. The amount and sequence of the bases will vary among different species and among different individuals. One’s DNA sequence is more similar to their parents, rather than other individuals of their species. As the DNA’s structure is a double helix, parts of the DNA are also genes. Genes can code for proteins. For example, your genes can code for the amount of proteins that are used to produce eye pigment, and the same goes to your skin color, hair color, etc. Not all genes produce proteins, and not all parts of the DNA are coding.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Info that came From Spike the snake, I can understand how his features, like patterns and length, are encoded in his DNA, and how outside forces can decide if and when to reveal them. I now know that DNA is not one enormous something, but rather a code within the nucleus of nearly all cells. Inheriting DNA from parents, or a parent in asexual reproduction, accounts for the transfer of traits. I see how much Spike and I have in common, as the same determining what my DNA is, sets the traits for height and color of eyes as well as susceptibility to illness. DNA's application in crime-solving, using hair follicle cells, highlights its unique identifying feature. Braving DNA's structure, I recall it's a nucleic acid made up of nucleotides, which have deoxyribose sugar, phosphate, and essential bases: adenine , thymine , cytosine , and guanine . I appreciate how even though the bases are shared, their configuration and number vary across species and individuals, indicating genetic variation. I visualize DNA's double helix, with the bases paired in the center with hydrogen bonds. I now realize that genes, DNA segment, code for proteins required for such activities as expression of traits such as eyecolor, structural, transport, enzymatic, and protective functions. I also know that not all genes code for proteins and there are noncoding regions. I know that gene regulation enables the cells to selectively use parts of the DNA code. Lastly, I know how DNA is folded up into chromosomes, and how I inherited 23 from each parent to end up with my 46. The review, illustrating the connection among chromosomes, genes, DNA, and nucleotides, And the knowledge about how ultimately the sequence of information determines who we are.<br><br></p>]]></description>

So we got the 46 choromosomes from both our parents which build to our 46 chromosomes our genetic code. Even if you’re a human, animal, plant or protist, then ATCG will always be the DNA bases in living organisms. DNA has 2 strands, nucleotides running up one side and nucleotides running uo the other. DNA is twisted in something called the double helix shape. Genes can codes for proteins and proteins have a huge roll in expressing traits. Human eye color is determined by many genes which what makes it a complex trait. Proteins are also involved in transport, construction, enzymes and in protecting the body.</p>]]></description>

It is made of building blocks called nucleotides, consisting of a 3 parts called deoxyribose, phosphate, and nitrogenous base. The base as the most important part because it codes for our traits. There are four bases in DNA: adenine, thymine, cytosine, and guanine. The DNA is structured as a double helix, that is held together by hydrogen bonds between base pairs. Meanwhile, portions of DNA make ups genes. Genes can code for proteins. Proteins play a huge role in DNA organization and gene expression. But, not all genes are used to make proteins. Genes can be turned on or off by different mechanisms in which we call this as gene regulation. When DNA is compacted it can be arranged into units called chromosomes. Us humans have 46 chromosomes. However, sperm and egg cells contain only 23 chromosomes each. We recieve 23 from our mother and another 23 from our father that is why we recieve a total of 46 chromosomes. </p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

Our DNA is in the nuclei of all of the bodies cells, and our cells can't function without it. One fascinating thing about our DNA is that it identifies our characteristics. It determines how tall we are, what color our eyes and hair are. But it can also determine if we have a disease. Our DNA has a beautiful structure and it helps you understand how inheritance works.</p><p><br/></p><p>DNA stands for Deoxryibonucleic Acid it is a type of Nucleic Acid, and nucleic acids are a type of biomolecule. Nucleic Acids  are made up of building blocks called Nucleotides. Nucleotides consist of 3 parts. Sugar, Phosphate, and the most important, the Nitrogenous Base. The sequence of the base can code for traits. There are four type of bases in DNA. Adenine, Thymine, Cytosine, and Guanine. These pair in a specific way. And these are the bases in living organisms.</p><p>The amount of the DNA sequences and bases can vary in different species and different individuals. The bases are held together by Hydrogen Bonds, the DNA also has a specific shape called a Double Helix. It Determines how tall we are, what color are eyes are, our hair and even our risk for certain diseases. Our body cells have our entire DNA code that’s why our cells can’t function without DNA. DNA means Deoxyribonucleic Acid. I also learned what nucleic acids are, it is made up of building blocks called nucleotides. It has 3 parts, it consists of sugar, phosphate, and lastly is the base which is very a important part of the nucleotide because the sequence of the bases can actually code for traits.</p><p>It is also mentioned in the video that there are 4 types of DNA. A (adenine), T (thymine), C (cytosine), and G (guanine). These are bases that pair in a specific way. All of the living things has the same DNA bases (T&amp;A) and (C&amp;G). The DNA is also twisted and it is called double-helix shape, some portions of DNA make up genes, genes can code for proteins, it can have a huge role in expressing traits, proteins is involved in transport, structure, in acting as enzymes, and in protecting the body and so much more. But not all genes are used to make protein. For example, there's a gene for eye color, a gene for hair color, and so on.</p><p> </p><p>Traits are the characteristics that we inherit from our parents, like our eye color, hair color, height, and even some aspects of our personality.
