Observation period
This lesson was important for me because I met the students for the first time. The teacher introduced me and the learners were very nice. I asked the tutor teacher for their names and provided me with a list, so I sat right at the fron of the class and tried to put a face to the names. It was a good first encounter :)

Assistanship period
In this lesson, the teacher, Marcela, and I, started with some animals riddles. We read the riddles aloud, which contained animal facts, and in groups they had to guess what animal it was.
At first, I thought they contained a lot of vocabulary that learners wouldn't understand, but it turned out they did! And they also engaged in the game even though it was very early in the morning. This was very useful to help me start planning my lessons because I got a better idea of the lexis this group of learners is acquainted with and the type of activities that's better to start with al 7.40 in the morning!

Lesson 1
On Wednesday it was the first lesson I delivered to this group totally alone. I had a fantastic time! I know I love what I do but it really surprised me to feel so relaxed and at home in my first lesson with this new group of students. I couldn't believe it when the lesson finished. The group of students were really nice and I had a great time in this lesson.

Lesson 2
First lesson back after the holidays! We worked with some videos about animals first that were really useful as a pre-reading activity. While watching the videos learners had to complete a worksheet with the same type of exercises and lexis that they would encounter later in a reading activity they had to complete alone. So, later when doing this reading activity I could see they had no difficulty at all, since they were already familiar with the lexis and type of exercises.

Lesson 3
First lesson back after many weeks since teachers were on strike. I thought students would find it hard to come back but they didn't, not at all. They were engaged in the lesson. This lesson we worked with countable and uncountable food. As a final activity, students worked in pairs to create their ideal fridge with the food they wanted. I was afraid that they were going to find it a bit childish but they had fun doing it and then sharing with their partners what their ideal fridge would have. This is one of the fridges.

Lesson 4
In this lesson we worked with roleplaying. At first, I didn't quite feel that students understood when to use each the different quantifiers we had been working with much, I tried to clarify doubts but they didn't ask any. So, when it was time for them to roleplay a conversation to find out what they needed to buy to make their own recipe, I went round the classroom making sure they understood what they had to do and that they were doing it right. And it turned out that they were doing it right and I had had a wrong impression before. I don't know if it was because it was too early in the morning and they were sleepy, but luckily they got it right and I was able to relax and enjoy their good work :)

Lesson 5
In this lesson we practised a lot for the test which is the following class. We practised orally together and in pairs, and we also had plenty of written practice. The idea was to solve the exercises consulting the notes, other classmates and the teacher in order to clarify doubts and get plenty of practice. As it's said "Practice makes perfect".

Lesson 6
Show time! It was time for the test. This was a very important moment for the students and I could tell because they were all in time in class and they didn't hand in the test in a hurry, they took the time to do it consciously. The majority of students passed the test and with very high marks, that showed me that the topics taught were clear. I was a little afraid that that wasn't going to be the case, since quantifiers for countables and uncoutables is a topic that's very different in Spanish and students sometimes find it very difficult to grasp. Those who didn't pass it didn't get a very low mark either. I got to compare their results with the ones they had had in the previous test and they had all improved, that made me really happy :D

Lesson 7
Students' reaction to this lesson was great! We started a new unit, it is a unit on the topic of music so students were really engaged, they all enjoy different types of music.
We had a good lesson in which I introduced the key lexis which was different music styles and we did some oral and written exercises to practise that vocabulary and learners also exchanged opinions about the music styles they like.
To round up the lesson I had plannned a game in which I played some bits of popular songs and in groups, learners had to guess the song. The score was given according to the seconds they took to guess the song correctly. We all had a lot of fun! It was a different game to finish the lesson.

Lesson 8
This lesson was very important for me because it was the last one. I had been in charge of the learning of this group since June (yes! since June). It was a very difficult year because there were many strikes and entire months in which the school was closed. And finally, there we were! November 6th... our last lesson together! I was even more anxious the night before than what I was for the first lesson we shared... back in June.
It was strange to know that I was not going to be a part of the group anymore, that the experience had finished. But during the lesson I forgot about all those feelings and everything went as planned.
It turned out that at the end of the class, the last 20 minutes, the students and teacher had prepared a surprise picnic for me. All the students had brought something to eat to share together and they even wrote me a card. It was just a perfect way of saying goodbye. I was truly surprised and grateful :)
