It also gives some insight into how older folks can protect their positions in their workplace. This clip even goes as far as to lay out some statistics and percentages of who this may affect in the future. I interpret this gif as a positive representation of senior citizens, and older people in general dancing like a bunch of 20 year-olds. There is a very common misconception that all old people are too frail and and fragile to get down and boogie. The truth of the matter is, the idea of older people being "too weak" to get a little down and dirty is, once again, just another unfortunate misconception. Though you may not think it, there are thousands, if not millions, of old people who still mentally, and maybe even physically still feel like they're in the their prime. Volkswagen put a fun twist on this commercial by having the lady drifting around in her candy apple red Volkswagen like something out of "The fast and Furious". It presents the idea and image that maybe the older generations are still just like us when it comes to our most cherished possessions, such as a car. We are seeing a person who is probably around her 70's, drift and race around town like a teenager or person in their 20's would do. This is an example of negative representation, especially when it comes to old women. It emphasizes the stigma around women only being "beautiful" up to a certain age. Another thing that I took from this very brief article is that there is no "cure" for aging. It is inevitable. We do it everyday as a mater of fact. Aging shouldn't be something for women specifically, to be afraid of.
