Nurses use their own terminology that would sound unfamiliar to those who don't work in a healthcare setting such as "NPO" which means nothing by mouth, or "I&O" which means intake and output. We usually chart using military time and we wear scrubs. Working as a CNA has helped me understand what it takes to care for patients and what it takes to work in healthcare. I also support environmentalism and LGBTQ rights. Roe v. Wade is very important to me because I'm a woman and I feel like woman should have control over their bodies and what happens to them. Another democratic idea that I value is more strictness regarding gun laws. This includes clothing that does not expose too much skin. We also have certain rules that we cannot smoke, drink alcohol, or drink coffee. We have certain rituals that we perform like praying, attending church activities on weeknights, going to places like the temple.
