The article " Sometimes, even good people behave badly" informs the public about how violent some people can be even about situation they may not all they facts about. We should take a step back before we become nasty and we really need to know enough about situation before saying such horrible, nasty things on it. Author of the article, Gayle Scherger, started, "We seem to be attracted to the dark side of life. We seem to craye the bad news, the horror story." (scherger 6a) This statement describes pretty much ever one in the world today. When we hear about bad news we will post about it, comment, and talk about what we hear. Yet way to many people comment such terrible things online that they most likely don't know the full truth.

In Gayle Scherger's newspaper article "Sometimes, even good people behave badly" Discusses that people can get violent and rude about situations that they have little let alone any knowledge on. In the article Sherger shares "we don't have enough information about the incident with Brown to warrant the action yet we are so willing to jump on a side and take our stand, long before we know the whole story"(Sherger 6A). Sherger is saying that when people hear stories or bad news they are so willing to jump in and start drama and take sides before they even know the whole story, or situation. People in society think these kind of behaviors and outbursts are okay when they really aren't we are all guilty of it. We all as a society should just keep other people's stories out of our mouths if we don't have the real facts on the situation.

Gayle Scherger's news paper article,"Sometimes, even good people behave badly" discusses how people are attracted to the dark side. As soon as someone messes up one time or they didn't intentionally mean to do something we still look for blood. Even if we don't know the whole story we still pick sides and want someone to pay for something, even if it doesn't involve anyone that you know. Just because we have our own opinions on certain things, that doesn't mean they are meant to be shared in a situation that you weren't involved in. Humans love drama and we create it so we can have some sort of excitement in our lives. Gayle states, "What is even more sad is we create drama and unrest where it just isn't warranted." (Scherger 6A). This states that no matter the situation us humans still crave drama and like to give criticism. We love attention and we will say anything to get that attention.

In Gayle Scherger’s newspaper article “Sometimes,Even Good People Behave Badly” she talks about how people are more accustomed to wanting to hear about bad news, and what's going on then good news like someone helping their neighbor. She also continues to talk about how people will quickly jump to one side and start throwing hated at the other person before knowing the hole story. Scherger makes the statement,”At first call of perceived injustice, hordes of people are ready to jump in with ball bats swinging, hunting down the supposed offender, slap on the scarlet letter, wrap the noose, set fire to the stake and make the crown of thorns.”(Scherger, 6A). This statement is saying when bad news strikes before people hear all the news they are already set to point blame at the other person that wasn’t hurt even if they weren’t to blame for the incident. Often times this does happen and tho people don't tend to listen or try to find out the whole story perhaps we could do a better job at explaining everything better so this incident won't happen as much.

In The Advertiser-Tribune, Gayle Scherger's newspaper article "Sometimes, Even Good People Behave Badly" discusses how people are some what negative like drama. Everyone has a dark side, it's up to you to let that side show. She only says how quickly someone will chose sides during an argument and throw hate toward the other side. she also explains "how good people are resort to the behaviors likened to a pack of wild dogs". This could mean so many things. It could mean that people are quick to look for drama like on social media or with friends of friends. This statement could also mean that no matter where you go, everyone has drama and sadly everyone behaves in a way that most of us don't like. However, this statement makes sense because of these reason, whenever you say something to someone or online, everyone has to say something about it, it's their opinion and everyone has the right to have one even if you agree or disagree with their opinion, we should still respect it.

Scherger talks about how even though there are bad things in the world that are scary, we kind of look forward to hearing about it. We want to know the latest bad news that's going on in our country or the entire world. According to Scherger “We seem to be attracted to the dark side of life. We seem to crave the bad news, the horror story.” (2017, Scherger). She is trying to say that the horror that we see, experience, or hear about doesn't make us bad people. Sometimes even the best people will act bad, but being interested in the bad stuff does not make you a bad person. We as humans want to know everything good or bad. Its in our nature to be nosy and know all the facts of a situation.

In Gayle Scherger's essay, "Sometimes, Even Good People Behave Badly." Scherger is is trying to discuss why people tend to behave like a pack of wild dogs. At first, the statement of people ready to jump around with baseball bats and hunt down a supposed offender, or other things that people do to make others feel hurt. Those who choose bad things become bad, and sometimes even good people choose bad sometimes. Majority of human lives are not always good. Things that can make can make people go crazy is a scary thing. "We seem to be attracted to the dark side of our life. We seem to crave the bad news, the horror story." (Scherger, 6A.) The occasional feel-good is nice at times, but sometimes it can go a little bit too far. We create drama and unrest issues that go on and probably will continue to go on in a few years from now. The writer's statement, "At the end of the day, as a community, when it comes to the health and welfare..." This sounds like it needs to be spread throughout humanity. Those who turned from good to bad; need to take a good look at themselves in the mirror.

In the article,”Sometimes, Even Good People Behave Badly” by Gayle Scherger, it talks about how good and bad people in the world make bad decisions they later regret. Scherger compares the acting out of violent behave we as humans engage in to the wild behavior of dogs. The author states, “At the first call of perceived injustice, hordes of people are ready to jump in with ball bats swinging, hunting down the supposed offender, slap on the scarlet letter, wrap the noose, set fire to the stake, and make the crown of thorns” (Scherger, 6a). She is stating that even when the slightest thing happens causing us to react in a negative way, we take the violence aspect to far. No matter the kind of day one person is having, there is no reason to go out of your way to make your point that obvious. There are plenty of non-violent ways to relieve the anger you’re experiencing.

Group mentality has often led to people doing bad things, even if their intentions are good. This is especially true nowadays, with the way information leaps from one side of the globe to another in a second through the internet. People just seem to be attracted to stories that cause this kind of thinking, and Gayle Scherger points this out in his Advertiser-Tribune opinion piece, “Sometimes Even Good People Behave Badly.” He shares a similar view, saying, “We seem to crave the bad news, the horror story” (6A). What people really want to know is what bad things they can rally against, but he really puts this into perspective when he says: “A heinous criminal will get well more than their 15 minutes of fame, while no one even remembers the name of the person going the extra mile to help his neighbor past the 30-second segment on the evening news” (6A). He makes an excellent point here by showing that not only do people crave the tragedy, but in doing so they also ignore the heroes. Instead of looking for the next crime or disaster, maybe people should focus more on the positive side of life, and organize around promoting good things instead of rallying around hate.

A statement that goes perfectly with this is “A heinous criminal will get well more than their 15 minutes of fame, while no one even remembers the name of the person going the extra mile to help his neighbor past the 30-second segment on the evening news” (6A). Which is so very true! We look on the news and see there's been a school shooting and that killer gets attention from the whole world!
