This quot show characterization because he is very agrressive in words and demanding.
T- "Forget it baby! There ain't no causes- there ain't nothing but taking in this world, and he who takes most is smartest- and it don't make a damn bit of difference how." This quote shows characterization because Walter feels so betrayed and felt hurt.
E- Mama to Walter: "Something eating you up like a crazy man. Something more than me not giving this money. The past few years I been watching it happen to you, you get all nervous and kind of wild in they eyes--" (p.72). This quote shows characterization because Walter makes Mama feel very sorry for him and she start getting fruastrated with him on his behavior.
E- "(He breaks down completely)And Ill feel fine! Fine! FINE!" (p.144). The quote shows characterization because the character breaks down crying after losing the money since he most likely felt betrayed by his friend and he feels that he has let down everyone in his family.

Then further into the book he starts, to me, to get nicer to his wife and started treating her like a wife when he found out she was pregnant. Closer to the end of the story, I felt that Walter was being very selfish and cared about himself and the business he worked for, by betrayed his mother in a way by using the left over many Mama used and spent it all on himself, which in mind the money was "lost." He trusted a guy with a lot of money (stupid idea) and the disappeared and run off with it. This conclude to a softer side of Walter when you opened up and shared how he felt and really showed his emotions. The curtained face represents the side everyone really sees. I see the selfish, rude, ignorant husband and son but when the curtain is pulled you see a completely different person. You see a protective, ambitious, passionate and have a lot of energy father and husband who does everything he can to make is family have a roof over there head and tries to be with his family.The bars in the picture could represent two different things. Explanation: I use this specific quote because Walter wanted to treat his wife like a princess and put pearls around his wife's neck. In the time period Walter was in, the society then was cruel, and racist. I chose this specific poem because it shows what could be Walter's feelings. "I hate to see others in pain," meaning that when he does something ignorant or upsetting he could she is family disappointed in him. He doesn't care what he feels because he wants to put his family and business first. He loves and is obsessive with his business that he doesn't pay attention to what he need. I feel that this poem was appropriate.
