more colourful than my other mood boards

i want an overall creepy vibe but still with some colour. though not all spirits have to creepy some could be quite calm and peacefull

my main focus for the first response was just to get the way they draw the line art and details. also experiment with the colours but while still having the topic of spirits in it. I aimed to use soft colours while also making it look eerie but still somewhat calming just like the artists work

the main focus I wanted to be on the ghost and the tree. if I were to do it again I might make the colours a bit lighter

I had faced many struggles while animating this and was a very stressful time consuming process. clip studio limits me to only 24 frames so it was hard to get the clouds to move slowly. So I had to export the clouds moving as separate images, one by one, which was very time consuming and even that outcome wasn't the best but was at least better and slower than my first attempt. I didn't want to spend to much time on the animation for a small artist response so i stopped there. The next thing I had to figure out how to animate the fabric of the ghost so I used many references and an animation tutorial for it. Though if I were to remake it I'll get your attention more on the ghost as I do think the clouds a bit distracting your eyes focus on it more

a lot of them turned out more over exposed when we saw them on the macs than on the cameras

the over and under exposure was most likely due to a large aperture and a slow shutter speed

similar with the too under exposed image cause by too fast of a shutter speed

it was all very hard to control but a lot of the images still turned out really good

I think the colours turned out amazing and creates a dark atmosphere but I do think next time I would make the animation a bit slower

your focus is kept on the exit sign door as the sign is the brightest and colourful part. it is also very easy to simplify into shapes

tried out making patterns with shapes and pixelising artwork intertwining a line with some letters that can be very helpful in making typography

i made a clay sheet ghost and tried 2 different techniques to try make it. the first attempt was to roll out a thin sheet of clay and droop it over something to get the ghost shape and fabric but i couldn't make it thin enough to work. my second attempt was to get a big lump of clay, shape it in to what i want and carve out the fabric folds. i then had scoop out the insides to make it thin enough to go into the kiln without exploding before i could put it in the kiln , with a clay wash i painted my ghost white and blue

I wanted to try depict death with a skeleton but I didn't like the designs

the next design I at first still wanted death to be included in some way so I tried to include a scythe in it as death is usually depicted with one but i didn't like that one either

even though the one I did end up with doesn't clearly connect to my theme I still think it was one of the better choices

sometimes they just look like a normal person either with or without an indication of how they have died. or they could be shadows , light , have human or non human like form or transparent

for the outfits I was thinking more of 80s fashion

and brush testing on adobe illustrate, I used the idea of light and showed it through the design with the head of the character I tried some different shapes. I also tried experimenting with different clothing and colour thinking of fashion from like the 80s/90s

first just messed around by getting a square and just moving the points, edges and faces around also learning a bit about controls like looking and moving around

i then got another cube and tried to make a house shape and messing around a bit with the modifiers like mirrors and subdivisions

the 10x10 didn't work out like the others and you cant really tell what its supposed to be similar to the 50x50

the 200x200 worked out the best as its a lot clearer on what the image is supposed to be

i used many cubes, rectangles, cones and also spheres using edit mode

i also used a bit of the sculpting mode on part of the head along with the mirror modifier

i think the head went really well in looking like light . the main problem i had was doing the legs because i didn't really know how to do the clothing of my character. but i figured it out by first making a long cube, then adding subdivisions to the edges to round it and then i scaled one end of the leg to make it slightly bigger.

it made the Lino a bit more interesting

my characters looking at their hand after they've just died from being electrocuted. I tried to focused a lot on the way they draw their hands and their use of pixel art which I've enjoyed doing throughout my project also with some simple frame by frame animation. if i were to do this again I would study the artist a bit more and produce more studies

in my comic its going to show the life of my character design

with this first story board its shows you their life before they died, showing the house as it gets abandoned and the character slowly getting abandoned .

the last panels show how the character is losing who they once were from all the loss they've experienced as their family slowly falls apart , the clock helping to show how time has passed

They go back to their old family home to help them try find themselves again. They walk through the house showing family pictures and then they go down to the basement to check on the electricity but then trip over some live wires. which is how they die

I landed on 4 frames as it is simple and also due to the fact clip studio paint gives me a limited amount of frames to use and I could repeat 4 frames the most
