Plasma is the liquid part of the blood.
Protein present: antibodies, clotting proteins
Functions of plasma: transport dissolved materials such as glucose, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, salts, urea and hormones. Plasma also carries heat. 
SERUM is plasma from where the clotting protein have been removed.

Red blood cells are small. 5 million are found in 1 cubic metre of the blood. They consist of a refexible membrane containing many molecules of red protein called haemoglobin.
Red blood cells are broken down and replaced at the rate of 3 million cells per second.
Red blood cells cannot repair themselves and they can only live for four months
