In my 15 years, I've always had pets.  When my parents first brought me home from the hospital, there was Macy, a fluffy orange persian cat to welcome me.  My parents told me later, that when I cried,  Macy would run over, look at my Mom and meow in this very communicative way, as if to say, "Would you help him?"  Throughout the years, we adopted a desert tortoise, 9 years ago now, Tillie, an incredible dinosaur type creature.  Then, when I was in third grade after spending an entire summer stating with deep longing type groan, "I want a dog!"; we adopted the best little red shelter dog in the world, Ollie.  Then Macy went to heaven and the tears came and subsided.  Lastly, when I was in 6th grade, a tiny grey kitten walked up our driveway and right into our hearts, Lulu.  After all this experience at living with pets, I can tell you for certain they teach you so much about love.  Even as I write this personal story, it's ten o'clock at night and Lulu is pursuing me, meowing at me, flirting as she rubs on my leg.  She is exclaiming, "Love on me, pet me and I want to love on you and spend time with you!" Ollie the dog, is the most loving and loyal friend you could ever find.  Once he jumped out on the top of the roof as my Mom and Dad were hanging Christmas lights.  He just wanted to be near them, yet he paid no mind to the danger he put himself in. As I reflect on all our funny pet stories, and there's plenty, I hope I'm always able to have pets.  A home just wouldn't feel right without them.
