         <description><![CDATA[<p>Looking at how education has changed in the past, I think the next ten years will bring new ideas but also some big challenges. Technology will probably be a bigger part of learning, with more online classes and tools like AI helping students learn in their own way. This could help some students, especially in schools that are far away, but it might leave others behind if they don’t have good internet or computers. Schools might also focus more on teaching about different cultures and histories, so students understand the world better. At the same time, people might argue more about what should be taught in schools! Following Sears’ timeline, the next decade in U.S. education might focus on adapting to rapid social and technological change, much like previous eras responded to the needs of their time. Specifically addressing social issues, like racism, mental health, and climate change.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>As technology advances, our kids will be using more and more devices. For example, instead of bringing a notebook, folders, pen, or pencils to school. They will only bring laptops and iPads. And I'm talking about kids of all ages, from elementary- to college. Our kids will either improve a lot with technology, or too much of this advanced technology will be harmful because they might get used to writing on an iPad and never be able to write on paper. This is scary, but schools will use more technology. Over time, this will benefit our education system but can also be detrimental if not used correctly. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I think some of the key challenges currently facing our schools are in regards to technology. Technology is becoming more and more prominent in our society, and schools are expected to use technology for pretty much everything. A large issue that comes up with this is AI, and how we can know whether or not the information we're receiving and learning from is real, and made by people, or has been artificially created by technology. Another problem is teachers knowing whether or not their students' work is actually written by them, or if they cheated their way through it by using AI. Schools are already trying to push away from using computers and technology for important exams and essays, because there is no way of knowing if information is actually yours unless it is handwritten. It is important that students are doing their work on their own, because the best way to learn is through practice. It is also important that students and teachers feel safe knowing that the resources they’re using are accurate and credible, and in no way AI altered.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I believe that as times goes on one of the most common themes that can be seen within education is that it has become far more accessible.  I believe that between a revolution in technology and a larger focus on a failure-free form of education, education in far more accessible than ever before.  I believe that in the coming year this pattern will continue.  Instead of focusing on failures, students will begin to focus on what they succeed with.   I believe with the use of technology education can become more individualized, and students can figure out what they excel in, and work towards that.  Many of the jobs that future students will have do not even exist yet.  Students who will take on this new jobs will hopefully have to opportunity to find it within themselves first.   In addition, I believe that emotional health will be a major focus in future education.  One cannot truly learn and grow if they are not in the mindset to do so.  I also believe collaboration will continue to play a huge role in education.  Texting, instagram, and, video creation all play a massive role in our society.  I believe that collaborations, or assignments regarding these services could be a great way to teach in the coming years.</p>]]></description>

We've normalized school over Zoom calls and even home-schooling for some, especially following the pandemic, and online schooling could be one of the keys to helping those in less advantageous communities get this equality. I do worry about AI, especially in a school setting for the well-being of teachers but more importantly students. I believe it's important students learn from human teachers they can make a connection with rather than some sort of technological being they cannot relate to, as well as develop other social connections around them in school, which could be limited with the increase of online schooling. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>In the next decade, I believe there will be many transformations made within the education system, specifically in the United States. We have already seen so many new changes and technologies introduced in the past ten years, which makes me wonder what other advancements we will have in the future. While technology can be beneficial to the classroom, I also believe it can have many downsides. The addition of computers and tablets for each student within this classroom, this strays away from the traditional learning method with a pencil and paper. I think that these new ways are harmful as they cause children to have shorter attention spans and contribute to an addiction to screens. In ten years, this issue will only worsen, which makes me fear how I will teach while having to adapt to these technologies. Additionally, I have had an interest in obtaining my certification in TESOL. With recent legislation and changes to administration within the United States, it makes me concerned that there will be fewer TESOL students in the future as our immigration laws transform. In recent years, there has been a high demand for these types of teachers, but I wonder if this trend will continue or decline due to our political climate at this time.</p>]]></description>

I feel like more resources will be on the internet rather than books and worksheets. AI will also come into play. As it gets updated more and more, I think teachers and students will use AI as a resource as well. However, I do think they'll have some physical resources just to have in case anyone needs it. The next generations, however, I think they'll be more technology base. Right now, I feel like it's a mix of both technology and physical resources since we were introduced to both around the same time.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>I think that the basic grammar of schooling in public education will remain the same. It is applied in public schools because it has been proven to work as nothing can run smoothly without rules. I also believe that it would be far too difficult to alter the basis of public schools in America. One thing that I do believe will change is how technology is used. Although I personally do not love it, all of the children at the school I work at have a chromebook. I do understand that as technology increases, it must increase in schools. I think that with AI, there are a lot of concerns with technology in the classroom. I think that if teachers stick to platforms that help increase classroom engagement, technology in a classroom won't cause any harm. </p>]]></description>

I think that within the next decade, we will start to see even more online learning, and I think that it will start to go down towards the younger elementary and maybe even pre school levels. I fear that the online learning system can be rather harmful to the younger population because it would be much more difficult for them to learn communication skills and it would be harder to make friends. </p>]]></description>

However, I think that any changes will be positive ones such as diversifying teaching methods so that students of all backgrounds and learning styles are able to have a great experience at school. On the other hand, I definitely feel fearful that we may take a few steps back before making progress in our education system, due to hearing people talk about defunding the department of education. I hope that this will not be the case, because I think with the right support schools and teachers will continue to improve and be better learning environments. </p>]]></description>

I think now more than ever learning is being seen as a personalized experience. Through technology, students are capable of exploring anything they seek out. Apprenticeship I think contributes to this way of personalized learning.  People absorb knowledge not only through mentors and experience but also through the solidarity of the people around them. I hope that facilitating an environment with engagement, community, and various perspectives will further education.</p>]]></description>

Seeing how education had a major shift following the pandemic, it made clear that education can benefit with more integration of technology. Experiencing the pandemic while being in school showed the persistence of giving students the tools necessary to be successful in their education. Although there are benefits, we cannot deny that classroom learning via screens is quite difficult and there are still major reforms needed to fully harness its effectiveness. Regardless, I think there is hope in seeing the next generation of students utilize a powerful resource as technology to assist in their education.</p>]]></description>

I also feel like schools may become too focused on this, which will cause a lack in proper social skills, like initiating a conversation with one another. Becoming too reliant on technology to do everything for you will cause a pattern of forgetting how to do something for yourself and disturb a student's thought process. Schools are much more likely to integrate AI, as it's already a major issue- and oftentimes in history, regulation because a better solution than banning something. Additionally, it can be a powerful tool to use, if used responsibly. It would allow for learning to be more personalized as well, where students learn a their own pace and get specialized help. Some students, however, could be too dependent on technology, and this serves as a scary thought. There's also possibilities of difference in access to resources across schools, depending on economic status.</p><p>Additionally, not to dive too deep into politics, but there have been recent changes to school systems regarding our current president. Whether for better or for worse, its entirely possible for future presidents to undo or continue such changes, or make an entirely new change on its own.</p>]]></description>

However, there are growing efforts to promote inclusion, mental health support, student voice and environmental awareness but the use of different curriculum, after school clubs and activities, and other opportunities for inclusion and interactive work. I believe within the next decade, the "grammar" of schooling will stay the same, such as the structure and order provided by schedules, age-graded classrooms and standardized systems, however, the level of technology and technological advances will continue to grow and be put to use in classrooms and schooling opportunities, but this can be a challenge due to inequality and the lack of access to resources for those of low-income. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>After reviewing the historical challenges and ideas that affected democracy seen in education, I feel the basis of education with teachers and courses will remain the same but the way we apply these ideas to students and teach them will evolve in todays society. Technology is clearly taking over the younger generations lives and is sneaking into the education system. I first hand have seen elementary schools starting in kindergarten giving chrome books to students to learn off of and do their work off of in substitution of pen and paper. I feel these new forms of learning will clash with the new spike in importance of mental health and emotional monitoring in classrooms. We have proven that screen time and technology in general affects children poorly instilling anxiety and depression so increasing the technology seen in their school day from 8-3 will challenge this trend and will hopefully even out with one another. In addition the high exposure of technology has affected children specifically with AI and its affects on their way of applying themselves to assignments and schoolwork in general. Learning to use it properly will affect how teachers will guide students when using technology in school in a positive way.          <description><![CDATA[<p>During the past century, U.S. education has constantly changed in response to social pressures, new ideas and criticism. It is likely that in the next ten years technology like artificial intelligence will become normal in classrooms, helping personalize learning but also raising issues of fairness and access. There will be no shortage of challenges for schools to confront as they go forward. Things like funding gaps, differences in performance and arguing over curriculum will all be struggles that still remain. Most definitely, support for mental health will especially become a greater focus now that educators understand how necessary the well-being of students actually is. But at the same time there might be revived discussions about testing and accountability. In short, education will continue to change. At the same time it also has to serve as an equal opportunity for all students. </p>]]></description>

Technology, and, in particular, artificial intelligence, will most probably become more tangible in the classroom in the upcoming 10 years, serving to individualize learning and increase the availability of information. Concurrently, the schools will still have to struggle with inequality in funding, racial segregation, and resource accessibility. It is necessary to address these issues to enhance democracy and the provision of an equal opportunity to all students. More emphasis will probably be put on inclusion, instruction that is culturally responsive, and the support of diverse communities. Finally, the future of the education sector will be determined by the extent to which schools strike a balance between innovation and equity and democratic principles.</p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

I think AI and digital tools will help to personalize learning and further develop certain skills that different students need.          <description><![CDATA[<p>In the past 10 years, there have been many advances in education and work towards creating a more accessible learning environment for students. In the next 10 years, I can see an increase in diversity in some schools and a decrease in some other districts. This can be due to the current state of housing development changing and the prices of living increase from previous years. I believe there will continue to be a decrease in schools in a wealthier district not due to race but due to income. And an increase in lower income communities as different races and ethnicities may get pushed further away. I believe there will also be an increase of technology in education with communities that may be deemed lower income getting them at a later date with their counterparts getting them sooner. </p>]]></description>

AI will become an important tool in education in ways that can help provide support to teachers for instance AI might be able to help students create lesson plans. With technology and AI in schools,  schools trips will be come more immersive where they will be able to touch things, feel things, and even smells things. </p>]]></description>
