From what I have learned about Sir Galahad from the website and Loom video, I think what constitutes a Galahad complex can be compared to a person who attempts to be flawless and almost define what perfection is. Sir Galahad was mentioned to be the “Perfect Knight” and he was associated with characteristics such as being courageous, gentle, and courteous; these traits help to define some of the characteristics in this complex.  This Galahad complex also implies that a person who possesses some of these traits makes them “superior” to others. Sir Galahad was “superior” because he was able to draw the sword from the stone. 
B.) I would have to agree with most people saying Holden Caulfield has a Galahad complex. I believe this because although he has a slightly self-centered personality -acting as if he is superior to others-, he also attempts to be courageous, gentle, and courteous. I can see why readers would believe Holden does not possess the qualities of of this complex: he carries himself selfishly and as if he is higher than others. He also tends to think only his views on the world are correct. A prime example of his actions of “superiority” can be seen when he calls people out for being “phony”. Despite these traits, a closer examination reveals Holden’s characteristics are comparable to those of Sir Galahad's. Holden’s gentle side can be seen when he shows compassion towards Jane and his brother who passed away. Holden can even recall the exact date of his brother’s death stating he died “July 18, 1946” (Salinger 43). He attempts to be courageous when he fights Stradler about Jane Gallagher; he fights Stradler in order to preserve the innocence of his old friend.
