Contrary to pop culture, where everyone wants to be caught up and "up-to-date" with new trends, I've always been an old-school type of person. While everyone moves on and experiences new things, I tend to stay behind. The majority of my life has been revolved around the sport of swimming, and despite having ambivalent feelings towards it, it is very significant to me. It has taught me so much. Now that I am no longer swimming, I am nothing but sentimental when thinking back to the sweat and tears I put into the sport. The swim goggles in this composition are the last pair of goggles I ever owned, it is a telltale of an unforgettable experience. 
The basketball socks and Cleveland Cavaliers T-shirt are both pieces of clothing once owned by my brother. The shirt, once a bright wine, is now dulled to a dark maroon. It's logo faded, just like my brother and I's hopes of our favorite basketball team winning a championship. After years of disappointment, of repeatedly throwing the shirt to the back of our closet, the Cleveland Cavaliers won it's first championship in five decades last year. I boasted the shirt, once ridiculed by others, to everyone around me. Before my brother left for college last year, he left me his only pair of basketball socks. After a decade of swimming and feeling "lost", it was my brother that introduced me to basketball, something that I really enjoy. Every time I step onto a court in his basketball socks, I'm reminded of the impact he's had on my life. He helped me find my passion, and has been an idol of mine for my entire life. I once thought that I was different, that I had the supernatural capability of retaining and recovering my eyesight no matter how much procrastination and damage I've brought upon them. This false interpretation of mine was finally cleared up for me not too long ago. I began to struggle to see clearly from a certain distance. I eventually had to get glasses with a pair of 50-50 lens. The glasses represent how much I truly procrastinate and how much free time I have on my hands. It also signifies my love of learning. It represents aspects of my childhood as I spent the majority of my time watching my favourite cartoons on TV. I also loved and still loves sports. The shoe represents my love for movement and sports. Similarly, the black and white shirt also represents who I am as a person. Everyone has both positive and negative perspectives of their personality. The same goes for me. The black shows the rebellious and aggressive side of my personality while the white signifies my desire for perfection and cleanliness.

The details on the watch shows how I am a perfectionist. Similarly, mittens are also something very special to me. This pair especially, had kept me in company for 5 long years. I think it is the memories rather than usefulness which made them stand out so much to me, and the fact that they have a unique design and texture that can't be found in the markets now. I remember buying it because teal and pink are my favorite colors, so having the brand name "PINK" designed all over a teal sweater was pretty ironic. When I was looking for a pair of sports shoes I had in mind-Nike flyknit, I walked upon them in the store in Hong Kong and knew I couldn't leave without them. They represent my love for sports. I chose a swimsuit because swimming takes up a huge part of my life, spending almost 13 hours in the pool a week. I decided to draw this suit in particular because this went everywhere with me.
