He was said to be born in 280 B.C.E. into the royal family of Han.
He abandoned them to study someone else however sadly after putting in so much work in his philosophy, a peer accused him of not being loyal. Since he was part of another ruling family, he was sent to prison where he eventually committed suicide.

Feizi describes a ruler as a force that is not obviously present but is constantly influencing people. Particularly, the consequences and rewards of people are vital. A ruler must enforce them as necessary. 
Han Feizi labels natural ordered decreed by religion as "The Way" and the ruler must seem to abide by "The Way". The ruler must also Feizi stresses to "Bel like Heaven, Be like Earth" and that this will make him a "sage". Han Feizi seems to be telling the ruler how to become a prophet to gain respect of those being ruled. 
The last point Han Feizi made is about the ruler's peers. He stresses a small circle to contain power and respect, but also avoid deception.

He believed that rulers must hold power with an iron fist but also gain respect of those he has power over.
Other beliefs include that people are inherently evil, and in order to maintain order consequences must be firm. However, Feizi produced many good ideas concerning those in power such as keeping a tight circle.
